Has there been any testing whether Double Attack caps? Figured out a set that would have 50% base DA...it includes all 3 AF3+2's, AF3 neck, Aesir Mantle, Askar Korazin, and doing Richardet's Axe+1 with 9% DA then an nq Richardet's for 7%, so it's a bit far off :D but with less useful gear there are a few DA options...
...and since Fighter's Roll can hit 24%...15 native, +1 Ravager's hat/pants and neck on darksday with just the 9% DA axe would be 60%, relatively testable if there hasn't been a test done yet.
Which of the NMs in Vunkerl that drop Cirque Seal: Feet would be the easiest to lowman?
Did dvallinn last night with war/sam (i used hasso full time, doesn't hit hard), whm x2, rdm, and a few blm who did little more than stun (wasn't needed) and cure (again, not really needed). Could probably do with as little as war, whm, rdm, brd (or just another healer). The rabbit is a dick. Never fought varney myself, but it also seems like a dick.
The dvergr is annoying, but not really hard. Just make sure your dd(s) turn while it uses a ws, as it'll heal it, same goes for nukes while it's casting.
Why is full perle better than homam hands/feet/legs, askar body & aces helm for DRG? ;-; Why SE whyyyyyyyy
Perle - Haste +14%, 25 Attack, 18 Acc, 22 STR, 14 DEX, 2% Crit rate
Mix'n'match w/Ace's - 19 Attack, 20 Acc, 9 STR, 2% DA, 13% Haste, 5 STP
So Perle has more Haste, more Acc, more Attack, (convert the dex/str) more Strength, more DEX, and more Crit rate. It has less Double Attack and STP. Unless the STP makes a 6-hit possible for you (it shouldn't matter if you have Rose strap and don't need a true 6-hit on DRG, I think), then then full Perle is better. You should probably use Walahra turban in your comparison set so it's more competitive (same Haste totals at least).
If you were asking the more theoretical question, "Why did SE outdate all of the 75 gear that I worked for years to obtain with a generic robocop set that you can buy after leveling to 78 in any Abyssea party?" then I don't have an answer for you. But they did. Now all the guys who never did Limbus have gear that's exactly as good as yours! You will potentially hold an advantage when you upgrade enough AF+1 for it to be worth going back to a mix'n'match though, so all is not lost and you shouldn't drop your homam.
Bit of both of those answers, thans Byrth!
Guess i'll nub-it-up.
What do you mean about the AF+1 comment, though? [edit] hurr durr i read it as AF1+1, ofc when i get some AF3+1 perle is going byebye!
Well the feet are dead, as far as drg goes, lol
AF3+1 is probably good enough to warrant going back to Mix'n'match and can be obtained without a linkshell or even a duo partner through repeatable quests:

Between the head and the feet, you're looking at a set that's more competitive with Perle especially with Abyssea buffs and Atma. It'd still be close on old content though, honestly. With a linkshell, you can someday hope to obtain:
http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/La...ttire_%2B2_Set
which would obviously make a mix'n'match superior. Homam hands and legs are not outdated, really. Feet are for triggering healing breath.
What's a good lowman strat for Carabosse? Only ever fought with 12+
With DRK as a main a RDM as the other job I use, is there any reason not to go 8/8 on HP merits?
How exactly do Double Attack, Kick Attack, OAT and OA2-3 work while under footwork, and what's the priority the game engine processes all these possible bonuses?
I'm sure there must be a priority list like, for example:
1) Roll dice DA proc
Yes? => execute additional attack and go to next round
No? => Scroll down
2) Roll dice KA proc
Yes? => execute additional attack and go to the next round
No? => Scroll down
etc etc. There must be some sort of priority list.
Do some of those bonuses get treated differently during footwork? Like for example does KA gets converted into pure DA (stacking with real DA), or does it remain a separate bonus?
And same for OAT and OA2-3, what stacks and what does not?
In OA2-3 you have around 30% of 2 and 20% of 3, which just generates 2 attacks. Should these be treated as different procs with different priorities and proc rates, or as a stacking ones?
I'm not a math expert but the difference should be that if they get treated as the same and they stack, it becomes 50% OAT, if they remain separate despite doing the same thing (2 attacks) then it should be something like 30% possible proc 100% of the times, and 20% possible proc on those 70% times where the previous one didn't proc, the sum of which is a lower number than 50%.
I'd really love to understand these bonuses better, and read if anybody discovered the priority order used by the in-game engine to calculate their chances to proc.
quest from Resistance Sapper incrase reputation of the area?
Atonement's help text says it's a two-hit attack. Since the damage it deals is similar to Spirits Within, is it actually possible for the second hit to miss?
attempting feuerenke with a melee tank is dumb right? magic dmg only? even if melee dmg is unresisted during hf? to low-man pinning would be required, yes?
for astral flow party, what is a good way to transfer hate from 1 puller to the other?
we have 2 puller, me(85rdm) + 75rdm(puller+holder). at camp, i would convert twice, to let the holder cure me. but when i warp, all the mob that i pull, is lost.
does the mob that i pull, had to eventually hit the holder, before i can warp?
They have to /heal. If you cure someone with aggro hate doesn't transfer. >_>
