Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but here goes anyway. I just recently reactivated one of my FFXI characters to get the ingame bonus item for FFXIV and now when I've no reason to keep my FFXI account active, I'd like to deactivate the character, but I can't log in to playonline anymore.

It gives me the POL-5311 error, saying either my square enix ID, square enix password or the one time password is wrong. Now the thing is, my square enix ID and password work just fine for the account management site as well as FFXIV, so they are correct. About the one time password, I do not have a Final Fantasy XI token and I don't even have the "use one time password" option put on from the PoL settings.. so is the FFXIV security token causing this or what?

Just because that 1500 damage TP attack won't one shot you doesn't mean it's a bad idea to blink tank.

If a melee tank takes 1500 damage, that still needs to be cured, or the next 1500 damage TP attack will kill you.

Cures generate enmity for the mages. Damage taken reduces enmity for melees/tanks. This adds up to dead mages. Dead mages lead to dead melees (if no line of defense aside from HP)... and when that happens, you've got yourself a wipe.

Cures should be you last line of defense, not your first.

Weird, i don't remember saying blink tanking was a bad idea. I said blink tanking usually isn't needed. And just because you're not relying on it all the time doesn't mean you can't use seigan in an emergency.

You're also forgetting that mages take far less damage than dds do, so even with the lower hp, they aren't really going to die just because they pull hate for a few seconds (and then guess what? They take damage, and lose hate, while the dds aren't taking damage, and not losing hate, so it switches back to the dds easily enough). Oh, and that doing +20%~ more damage gets them more hate as well, so it's not like they're just losing massive amounts of hate from taking more damage.

There is not, and there likely never will be. The recent price crash is because people are mildly retarded and can't figure out how to activate it in Abyssea.

Pink birds are pretty great, idk what you're smoking. Apart from them, the vultures a little south are good. I've also had a lot of luck building blue light on bats (or anything really) and then moving to Crawlers in Vunkerl.

The light cap being 40 sounds like bullshit. Doing the standard 25~30azure/25~30pearl/25~30amber led to over 300mins of visitant the two times ive done Colibri and lets face it, bonus time just goes farther in new zones.

Mandies are great and all but when you have bonus time in Tahrongi unless you've come on your solo job, you really have little to do.

Colibri are great for farming time but if you really want to cap EXP asap then you should do Frigatebirds, Raptors or Abyssobugards in Misereaux. All of those mobs throw Ruby light into the mix. My only gripe with Frigates is that they are really fucking stingy on the pearl lights. For Vunkerl, Im partial to Murex though Murex don't drop Ruby lights.

Edit: Really I fucking hate Puks but nothing else in Vunkerl seems to work. Murex are good but you need to have a smart party. Smart equating to keeping them silenced.

Random Question: Barring Murex/Puks, are there any other good EXP mobs in Vunkerl? Ive heard about Triple Bats near Varney but triple bats seem hellish.

Just need to know what mobs are lacking what abilities their non-aby counterparts do. The new zones seemed to fuck some of this up, with the mandies having dream flower. Who knows what else deal-breaking ability these mobs have, otherwiki hasn't been very helpful in this regard.

I've not tried them but what about devegetators? People do erucas in attohwa and incinerate is generally more damaging than poison breath right?

I'd imagine curing a poisonga is more annoying/less doable then an easy curaga/divine waltz.

Crawlers in Vunkerl (Devegetator) don't give natural Azure light, you'd have to break the BLMs off to build elsewhere which is a huge chore and likely the kiss of death in any less than ideal PUG.

On mandies: Pachypodium are reskinned Lycopodiums which don't have Dream Flower. That's the only reason why Pachypodium are as popular as they are. The new mandies are just old Mandragora/Korrigans, the flower/bud on their heads give it away.

When I was talking about mandies, I was talking about aby tahrongi, in case that wasn't clear. The point about extra time remains true, but for those looking for exp, like some of us still are, I'd stay clear of aby Mis colibri...
