guess I'm remembering things wrong then, my bad. Not really much to reccomend then everywhere else with bird mobs and fire weather is a pain in the ass too.
How fast is rahu? Possible to solo?
With my limited experience with Rahu I would say it's soloable rdm/nin kiting. However, the pull will almost always get links so maybe use an alt to pop it. I can't really think of anything that's really dangerous about it outside of maybe a bad -ga followed by heavy stomp. I am not aware of any places to kite it but since the model is fairly large I'm sure you could find something that works for kiting/pinning just like Kampe.
Do Iron giant bodies drop even with out the help of a ws to make the !! appear?
Yes, however the drop rate is significantly lower.
All right, and instead of sifting through pages upon pages, which ws/spell increases the drop?
It's random.
It's not an elemental ws, nor afaik any possible magic. So random but random within those terms.
bump: Experimental Lamia soloable or 2box? Plan is to have one box bio spam, other box nuke (blm)
Fought Rahu a hell of a lot lately. If you take Conflux #2 and head towards him (through the arch) you will see three rocks ahead of you, slightly to the right. You can kite him around these and between them etc quite effectively. It is soloable almost definitely but one hell of a hassle given the piss poor drop rate.
No TP regain, susceptible to Para/Slow/Addle. Bind and Grav are no-gos (predictably) and haven't managed to land Silence either. Normal attacks are fairly weak and it seems to have a standard DA rate (~10%). It casts fairly frequently and is very annoying (the Addle is AoE as well). All elemental nukes seem to do pretty well and with Ascetic's Drink and 1x MAB atma, Aero4 does ~2-3%. Heavy Stomp paralysis is EXTREMELY potent and long lasting (mine lasted 16 minutes) so it is best avoided (won't Para you if shadowed obviously). Voidsong is a pain in the ass but not fatal since it has the standard "stand around a look like a dumbass" pause after TPing.
I dunno what else to say really. It's not a difficult fight, just annoying. You definitely want some method of dealing with the pull though; unless the area is 100% clear it is very challenging to pull it without attracting a link.
What is a good camp for the curing potency staff trials which require elementals during lightningsday?
edit: dp
.
Seriously fred? Go to the god damn wiki page for the trial, it is WIDELY documented. Roughly one quarter of the entire FF population has done it. It's not a secret.
Castle Zvahl Baileys (S) if you want to do it with minimal effort.
