Random Question Thread XIV: No Not XIV, XI

I heard that the first abyssea zones dont have the ephemeral light build thingy.

They do. Killed three while my friends got Atma/Cruor Buffs and one of them spawned a TE after killing a Fly while I searched for more Eph. mobs. While they may have a few set locations where they spawn, their spawn timers are very odd. Sometimes 1m~ sometimes not at all.

Its disconcerting that no one has found these since they've been in for 2.5 years

So what a RDM that quit just before Shantotto add-on should be looking for to get in terms of important items now? Aside of Abyssea since I have to wait for the stones to charge first. Mangian weapons? Which one are must to get? Any other really important stuff?

If you like nuking, the elemental staff paths. Possibly a cure staff. You'll want to strive for at least +1 AF3 eventually. RDM gear hasn't changed all that dramatically in the past 2 updates, though. Teal can shore up some spots until you get some. Not really sure where you left off, either. Should probably prioritize getting Celerity abyssites to help your stones out, however.




Question on my end, now. Any mobs around 84-87 near some zone lines? Sick of looking at the my THF's uncapped evasion, but I don't have a pocket healer at my disposal, so things would be more like "live as long as I can then run like a little girl" in terms of skilling.

Had no problem at all stunning Durinn earlier tonight with level 80~ dark magic skill as blm.

On the other hand, I didn't hardly even need to. Durinn is the EASY one. Dvalinn before him is the annoying one, but once we figured out how effective smn damage was on him, he went down fast too.

make sure you get a fanatic's powder, since the drink will not give you full physical immunity.

Fanatic's Powder and Drink is the same. Tonic is the one that's only -somethingPDT, +DEF or whateverthefuck it is.

Edit: Fast cast isn't really "Fast Cast" aside from the Loq. Earring... it does however, cause me to counter for 250-400 damage i Perfect Counter is up while I'm casting Utsusemi.
