180 is just a number i made up, mainly for safety, can probably start when you hit 130/40 lol always good to be safe :<

Yeah, my ls usually has people starting with between 40-60 minutes (actually not anymore, since we always all leave with well over 120 mins, and have tons of stones (i've got 35 atm myself, plus 120 mins), but we used to start with around 40-60 pretty often), and the first thing we do is have rdms kill ephemerals for azure, while dds build pearl. After pearl we immediately do amber, and then we start killing.

We usually have somewhere around 2 parties farming TEs/feet, while the rest are rdm doing nms.

If you're not using fell cleave, you're retarded

Wiki claims that enspell damage caps at 21 and phalanx caps at 29. True? If it is, nearly all enhancing gear is fucking pointless past 75 :/

I can match fell cleave kills per hour duo without a WAR. There's more than one way to kill at repop.

Not sure about phalanx, but iirc, 21 enspell is right. You still need more for macc on enspells either way though. Also enhancing doesn't even start to do anything for gain spells until 300.

Ooh! I completely forgot about the gain spells. Yeah, disregard me trying to unload my enhancing gear. Guess I DO need it!

I recall there was a way to turn off the title menu music for FFXI, but I don't remember if it was an addon, or just a .dat file that you take out or even an in-game option. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

For fistule Key item does the puller have to claim Guimauve or just Fistule?

It's first enmity not claim, would assume they need to have hate on guimauve when fistule aggros but not 100% sure.

I'm sorry, but you are blatantly over-exaggerating, or under-rating cleave rate. First off, from my experience there, repop rate is not constant, and the faster you kill them the faster they repop. This is actually very obvious when you show up as a cleave party, the first 2-3 pulls you have to wait a bit for them to pop, after you get going they pop almost instantly. I am unsure what kind of repop rate you have, but seeing as it isn't constant, I'll totally believe you kill yours at a slower repop rate.

Past that, it is the exact same time required for us to cleave 2-3 families of mobs (depending where we want to camp) as it is to kill 1 family of mob. Or are you going to now claim you can keep up with that as well?

Continuing on, different families have different numbers of mobs, which begs the question of what mob are you targeting? Are there 12 spawns? Are there 20 spawns? Squibs have ~20 spawns, Apkallu have 22-23 I think. It's a pretty simple place to pull all 42 if your only goal is chests and not keeping an exp chain. But even just pulling squibs, it's around 3minutes between pulls (from start of cleave to start of cleave, it's probably closer to like ~2min30sec...chests are still up from the previous pull for sure, and Sekkanoki is generally ~20-30 sec left 2 pulls after it was used, meaning can only use it 1 per 3), a bit under that, but going with 3 min to give you the benefit of the doubt...killing 20 mobs in 3 minutes is killing 6.7 mobs per minute, or 9 seconds per kill with 0 downtime. I'm sorry, but I'm calling absolute bullshit on that. I can kill 1 in 9 seconds for sure, but averaging that while accounting for pulling/etc, really don't buy it. Then again, I do believe you can kill @ repop, because I'm sure Abyssea repop is not constant. Anyway, up it to 2 families (still doable with a single party), and you're up to ~42 mobs in 3 minutes (takes a bit longer to kill due to mob cap, but still dies almost as fast)...sorry, but Fell Cleave is far and away the most efficient way to farm Abyssea, and you are really stretching here.

I was wondering how his MNK could match a WS that does potentially 20k dmg, tbh.

Hitting 15 mobs, it can potentially do as much as 40k or so, with MS. 25-35k each is pretty reasonable, assuming 15 mobs each.

He wasn't talking about doing it on mnk anyway.

Protip: -ga is still aoe. 2 BLM can take out an entire family, or two if you were so inclined. Abuse mana wall and restore chests.. it's also more durable than WAR. Technically not as fast as fell cleave? Maybe, but it's close. You can't cleave efficiently with 2 people either. I'm in no way calling cleave bad, but it's not as end-all as you make it out to be.. statements like "If you're not using fell cleave, you're retarded" are just ignorant. Got a puller, WAR, and a WHM or 2? Of course you're going to cleave. Going in duo? It's not a great idea. With similar coordination, i'd say it's 4-5 people where cleave starts outdoing -ga, and bringing 10 people to one area is silly either way unless you've got a lot of leeches. The respawn and pull take up most of the time, so the difference between 15 second kills with cleave and 30 second kills with BLM is not very large. As an added bonus, BLMs aren't forced to generate ruby in zones like la theine where there aren't practical no-ruby mobs to cleave. You can say it doesn't matter, but 45-45-10 distribution vs 33-33-33 probably means you're getting MORE blue and gold boxes using a blm group, which'd be the main reason for doing it in the first place.

Smn/Puller/War....2 puller perhaps if you want 2 families. The warrior in our cleaves is far more durable than your black mages, as there is literally 0 risk of him dying. No ruby is nice I guess, but that has nothing to do with your initial claim that you can kill as fast as a cleave, and past that, I've seen the black mage shit, and your agas do shit-garbage damage with that many mobs, and I don't believe you can even survive and kill a 20+ mob pull without fanatics (gonna be out of mp well before they die relying on mana wall...), though perhaps I'm wrong.

So how are you guys surviving on WAR/BLM without Fanatics? Is it simply because the person gathering the mobs has hate or is there something else involved in the WAR's case? Is manawall really that damn good with 20 mobs hitting for 100-200 DMG (50/100 DMG to your mp 20x)?
