Normally I prefer Stewart to Colbert, but this is where Colbert really shines. Taking his character out into the real world and shoving it in people's faces.

This. In a way it is more interesting than when he's in character. Hearing him talk normal really gave weight to what he was saying, he seems like a real sincere stand-up guy.
