Fringe sucked, but I actually quite like Supernatural. I can't remember which season is which but the soul and angel arcs were pretty cool. I like the characters and the overarching storyline, basically. Also there are some comedy gold episodes. Latest season is getting a bit tired but I guess that's to be expected.

If you didn't like season 1 you probably won't ever enjoy it though. It does get better but the past few seasons have been downhill and are almost certainly worse than s1.

The show has no idea what it wants to do with this current story arc. For the Leviathans to be the main baddies, you really don't see them enough for the show to be at this point in the season. And Sam > Batman.

Yeah, the Leviathans are shit. They need some serious elder god stuff to happen to make it interesting again. People going insane, etc. That'd be AWESOME.
