    Shockwave flash crashing with windows 7

    I just built my PC the other day and got it up and running with windows 7 but when I went to pandora.com to listen to music I keep getting shockwave flash crashing.

    I use google chrome and adobe flash is up to date. Any idea what might be the cause of this? I googled it and I am reluctant to download 3rd party software from some backwater tech advice forum that 8 people have ever been to.

    Any suggestions?

    Video card drivers and DirectX up to date? Only thing I can think of since you just built the rig.

    I have the exact same problem every time i go to MMORPG.com. Like you i have everything up to date but use Firefox.

    The general error i get is:

    ypeError: Error #2007: Parameter child must be non-null.
    at flash.display::DisplayObjectContainer/removeChild()
    at eng_type4_play_160x600_fla::MainTimeline/timeLine()

    my problem may be unrelated, but adobe plugin crashes a shitton on my firefox (4.6 beta), and again I don't know if it's related but at the same time I get the error message that completely prohibits anything using media to open. Aka when I open windows media player it just freezes, but this always happens at the same time as the plug-in crashing. 64 bit Windows 7. A restart fixes it but somehow it keeps happening.

    I can click "ok" when i get the error and continue surfing but after 2 or 3 my browser just completely locks up and i have to restart it.

    You mean 3.6? For windows that's when they started containing the Flash plugin in a separate process away from Firefox. They also did the same for OSX since beta of 4.0, and I have to say, if it's anything on Windows like it is on my Mac, Flash crash rates increase 10-fold, even during stupid shit like moving through your tabs. But I guess that's why it's a beta. ;/

    I've honestly no idea on this one. Only thing I can think of is the crash possibly fucking up something driver/codec related that's also used by your media player of choice. Ever keep the task manager open and see what's occuring at the time of crash?

    You got Ad-Block running with a filter subscription set up? I took a quick glance at the site and it doesn't seem to use Flash outside of ads.

    Hmm yeah i allowed the site in adblock because for some reason it was blocking my ability to see uploaded screen shots.

    Nah I'm running 4.6, but with combined with the extra tidbit that i posted and the fact that a browser restart doesn't fix it, I don't think it has much to do with firefox itself. It happened in FF3 as well the only difference was that instead of just closing everything flash related and displaying the crash notification over them, it simply froze and wouldn't respond, I even had a tough time force closing the damned thing. I originally thought it had something to do with taking my laptop in and out of hibernation, because it would happen at random times but mostly after I opened it after a hibernate, as long as it was on it was fine. But the most recent one happened while I was browsing so idk what the trigger is. I'm not even sure if it's adobe related since it affects everything that relies on media, like I said.
