There's a few toads in the Tam Tara but you want a lot. Only other place I know with a lot of them is Mor Dhona which is also out the way, plus they're a bit higher rank there. Why not just set a favourite at Bald Knoll and pray the Great Buffalo doesn't spawn on your ass while toad farming?
Oh right. I thought they popped faster from my experiences of fighting the buffalo in the toad area. Maybe the toads are like that everywhere. It sounds like you need to kill all the toads, craft for a bit and then kill some more etc. Have you not considered that they might share spawns with crabs? A lot of mobs in the game seem to share spawns with a different mob.
I don't know what/where boulder downs is, but there is (or at least was) an area/cave way south of Camp Dragonhead that has like 10 or so of 'em, maybe more. If you are coming across the bridge from Camp Glory, break away from the road and continue west. As soon as you can turn south (like 3 map-sectors over) they are in that little area that juts down.
On the topic of fatigue.
Does fatigue slowly wear off/decline if you gain sp on a different class?
I'd tested this out a while back and saw absolutely no signs of this, yet a LS mate is swearing that it does atm.
That area around boulder downs, their spawn area goes from near the raptors ALL the way to the pathway you see to the far east.
They also "cluster spawn" into a little nitch at the bottom. If you do not clear out this crevice once in awhile, you will pileup about 10 toads into 1 tiny little spot (which is near suicidal to try to pull one).
The toads have a spawn time of 5min on average, just be sure to check the "entire" area and the small niche in the middle/bottom of that entire area.
It does at an super slow rate, you'll notice it if you stop within say like 5min into fatigue, if its like 2-3 hours into it, probably be like 3-4 days before its out of fatigue or so.
I think it might but only within the same discipline. I've not really tested it to be honest, but I know goldsmithing certainly never affected archer and vice versa.
Jamison, that area you described is where Boulder Downs is. The toads at that area are actually east of the gate past the raptors, which ends up being where you said coming from the other direction.
Does wearing a not favored class or rank piece of gear scale down the stats that actually impact your stat ratings? In other words, I'm wondering if at 24 Gold it would be better to wear canvas halfgloves or shortgloves. Halfgloves have no Craftsmanship and +5 Control, but wouldn't be scaled at all. Shortgloves have +11 Craftsmanship, no control, and are 30. I just remember XI scaling everything down so quickly that wearing some gear even 5 levels lower would basically reduce them to pixels, and I don't know if XIV actually adds the scaled down amount to your stats or just shows what your stats would be if you were following the proper favored conditions.
it is decreased and it varies so there are few hard numbers to throw around :/
Pretty sure the UI tells you what stats you are actually getting from the equip, and not what you 'would' get. The UI doesn't show stat caps or stat reduction from wear though (might not display food either, can't remember).
Comparing Crafts vs Control is another matter though.
Best place I have found is west of Camp Everlakes in Coerthas. You will see the area 26:33 - 33:35 has about 8 or so ponds. Each of these ponds have 2-3 toads. The repop rates are not that bad either and you can roam kill the toads and circle back and they should be back up.
Battle classes do seem to affect each other with surplus. My GLA surplus has gone even though I only started ranking GLA at the weekend. My shield surplus has gone too yet I know it wasn't due to reset until Friday. I don't know about my CON, will find out later. What's odd about the shield is it was in tier 3 surplus... Only class I've ranked without shield since then was lancer 1-21 but I did that along with GLA + shield. Impossible to say how this shit works.
For people that do DoLs: Is there some kind of invisible "fatigue" that reduces your chances of gathering items? I'm currently a rank 21 Botanist farming grade 2 areas for elm and for some reason I'm getting "Your chop damages item" fairly often.
yes, after a couple (4+) hours you just have to wait till the next (earth) day and it goes away
Is that true? I knew about the fatigue but didn't think its reset was so predictable. I thought it disappeared slowly over the course of the day.
Why do people keep saying Djigga's use their AoE when you WS and not to use WS on them? Is there any truth in this shit? I thought they used the attack when near death as a last effort to kill you. Kinda like a suicide since it hits them too.
Yep it's true, Djiggas will use poison mist if you use a WS on them. I am curious if it's only for TP attacks or enfeebles that require TP (Comrades in Arms for example). Also it seems to be a regular move for them since when I landed Twisting Vice on one they still countered with it.
Also on that note, bombs grow if you use a TP attack on them as well.
Correction on the above: djigga aoe occurs when you successfully hit them with a ws. If you miss the aoe will not occur. This has been my observation anyway.
