My hope is that after they are done renovating the game, that they redo the payment system as well before they start charging people. The system they have now is just so awkward and unnecessary.
Hopefully they will just do credit card payments like ffxi does without going through hoops to do payments
It's pretty confusing to be honest. Don't like it. Just do what every other game does and allow credit card directly instead of through some third party company. It seems unprofessional in a way.
Everything SE does must be different. We all know this.
At what level does behest stop becoming useful?
Depends on group size really 8 or less members behest would still be around 110-150 SP for like.. a Lv 35 in a Lv 30 behest.
If your aiming for 200~300+ SP kills though would be best to have about 8 people in the Lv 24-29 range
I haven't really sat and tested it all but thats approx SP ranges from all the behests i've done and that SP pretty much applies to any behest with the level differences, as I've done many lv 30 and 40 behests with group sizes ranging from 2 to 15
At what level do mobs stop one shotting you for 3k damage while out exploring trying to visit random aetherite gates? I guess another way of asking this, is do you ever hit a point where your hp shoots up a ton by itself or your defense gets better/useful? Highest job is 11/physical level 15. Out walking around last night after leveling marauder and just got obliterated on a few mobs that I tried to sneak past.
Dmg gets reduced the closer in level you are to a mob.
Ah, good deal. Thanks. I was sitting there thinking there's no way a regular mob should do that much damage lol, but I haven't really gone out and about since I rarely play.
dLvL is the most significant factor in reducing damage, and it is substantial. Insane really. You could argue that Emulate is more significant for elemental damage however, but level still plays a large role there as well.
Probably 60+ or even 70+. The higher you get, the less damage you take and while it does go down rapidly as your ranks increase almost all of the gates that aren't used in leves are surrounded by mobs of ranks 60-90. My 50 ARC got one shot for 3k+ damage the other day when I got too close to a Rainbow Basilisk in Mor Dhona. All of the high areas (to a 50) I've been to have been filled with drakes, raptors, efts, hogs, goobbues etc. that will happily two shot you at 50 and sometimes one shot you. On a side note I collected my last aetherial gate yesterday. I wonder how many others have done that lol.
How should a newbie go about getting new gear? I've got a bunch of rank 10 jobs and am physical level 9, and I feel like sitting around in my Lvl 1 armor is a bad idea.
Crafting, questing, or hoping that leves got something nice for you. There's also the market wards, but chances are things are overpriced there. If you have a LS full of crafter, chances are you can probably get it crafted cheaper with raw mats.
Sidequests! NPC's with ! over there head offer them at various guilds in all 3 cities.

For new players the best thing you can do is pray. For me this is one issue SE needs to look into since for new players finding gear in your rank/price range is a pretty big chore.
Anyway the best thing you can do is search the lower tailor's ward and hope you can find gear around your rank. If you're desperate for new gear there's stuff in the 20-30s that can be dirt cheap:
Brown Canvas Coif
Blue Canvas Tunic
Ochre Leather Duckbills
These 3 items seem to be fairly common in 20/30 leves so they usually sell at a pretty low price. You can also try quests for equipment.
Also, the city you are in is a huge factor in finding items. Gridania is very dead, Limsa is hit or miss, and Ul'Dah is almost always your best shot for stuff.
Even so you're kind of limited on what you can get.
Well the rewards from what I seen are pretty random atm, hopefully they will make something like a "chain quest" where you can maybe get a full set a of gear if you do the whole quest line (like the onion set for example)
As a Marauder, what tp skills should one be using purely from a tp/dmg stand point? Is feint still the way to go?
