Edit: seems like I did something to cause a bug. Restarting FFXIV fixed it.

Is the highest gathering grade 5 or 6? (I've only fished up to g5 and remember the higher grades got knocked down, but I don't remember if grade 6 stayed or got nerfed.

There are Grade-6s around, but you'll never be able to in-game search for them since the abilities only go up to V. I have seen Grade-6 waters over near the Footfalls area by the ferry dock.

The hide most likely comes from LW leve's (which I have at Lv 45+ so can check that also)

How did you get your rating so high? Does the quality of a finished synth effect it as well?

Quality is the only thing that effects your rating.

Your rating is a % of the quality for each synth that scales with the amount of possible synths (less total synths-higher %, more total synths-lower %).

edit: and for an unrelated side-rant, local leve selection is seriously borked. For the last, idk, 4-5 resets I can't find BSM leves in the 20 range for my life. Even in Limsa it's been 1 lvl 20 sometimes 2 (no 25s), other cities often have 0.

Can anyone actually confirm any grade 6 fishing spots, as an apparent grade 6 was said above being near footfalls ?

Thats why i wanted to ask SP grinding @ 44 im getting 230 a fish (double with sweat of brow) and about 70 a miss and its getting realll slow ><

They said only Grades 7~10 were dropped to Grade-1. I hadn't actually checked since the patch, but there were Grade-6 waters in the lower areas of the Footfalls (down in the pits). They should still be there.

Edit: nevermind, I was wrong.

All schools of fish rated grade 6 or higher have been lowered to grade 1.

Does this game still suffer from memory leaks? Seems odd my entire system froze on a FNM and my PC wasn't running hot.

So I'm thinking of finally giving this game a try...My friend played the alpha/beta, up til like the 5th test...Was wondering: what's new with the game? what's good with it? what's bad about it?

Still needs a lot of work, I'd honestly wait.

Other than a few tweeks and whatnot the 1.18 patch notes are pretty much the first major change the game has had.

ranking up is a lot less tedious overall, a lot of quests (albeit basic ones), some decently fun little dungeons... but there are things like Physical Levels that are going to be abolished, and a job system in the future... a lot of things that might make you want to wait until you don't have to trouble yourself with dealing with the current system.

For example, I would play a mage class here and there, but I have my stats allocated for my melee class(es) and I really do not want to spend the time and effort to re-spec myself just to play as a mage in my free time... thus, I'm probably not going to touch a non-melee class until they get rid of that whole system.
