I thought this "system" was discontinued sometime in beta, but there was a status effect for changing gear too often. I rarely see it anymore, but sometimes it still pops up on other people.

Yeah, it's still there. Anytime you swap gear while the party is engaged you're hit with a status effect. Can't recall exactly what it's called off the top of my head.
I think I remember that now, though I'm not sure how effective it is.
It's some message that tells you recently equipped gear is uncomfortable still or something. No idea how effective it is.
What gear swaps are worthwhile for mages anyway? Can hardly swap rings in a macro due to awful programming unless you have a nq, +1, +2, and +3 version of the same rings.
So stats are a functional part of the game, more dex means you hit more right? more str means you hit harder?
or have they not implemented this yet?
One of the retainers on my mule is bugged, whenever I try to call it in the wards the game just hangs (can't move/target/open menu, etc) and I have to kill the game to get out of it. Doesn't happen when I call it at a bell and the other retainer works just fine.
Has anyone experienced this before? If it's still doing it tomorrow I'll be calling a GM just didn't feel like doing it tonight (was trying to set bazaar before sleeping).
Has anyone else (on Saronia?) been having connection issues (heavy r0 style, but not full DCs) the last 4 days?
(before anyone asks, I've reset all my equipment, and everything else netwise works just fine, regardless of load, Linksys 4200, wired gigabit ethernet, cat6 cables, 40/40 fiber connection etc.)
So what's the general consensus for r50, using STR/DEX or ATT/ACC items? I've seen many ra/ex armors with ATT/ACC instead of the crafted ones with STR/DEX. Or it isn't worth it to pump up anymore the STR/DEX if you're around 120-140 on them?
Since when do GMs look like that? :D Or is that some .dat swap.

He has the GM icon, but he's roleplaying for the upcoming changes so he's not one in the traditional sense.
There's that one Garlean general too, with some bad-ass equipment.
GMs just seem to like wearing whatever they want, it's refreshing and makes seeing them around more interesting.
Stupid question.
Never failed a faction before (it's a level 50 one, I picked up a few days ago so the leves have reset at least twice now)... Do I have to rebuy it with 100 faction points or do I just talk to the person that gives the leves out in the AG?
It's just sitting in my journal atm, couldn't exchange it or replace it with my botany leves, so I figured I'll just leave it in there since we'll be 50 soon enough, but unsure how. Don't want to waste the points if I don't have it.
It counts as a fail just like any other and it will refresh itself when you touch the counter after next reset.
This was our first failed one (we never bothered purposefully failing them before the last update), so I wasn't 100% sure how they behaved. Thanks![]()
There was a GM controlled Miqo'te named Kipih Jakkya in Ul'dah the other day. She was roleplaying as a journalist and interviewing players about the Imperial threat. Was pretty cool having the interaction, she even mentioned some of the other GM controlled characters as her rivals. I'm guessing there will be a Lodestone update about it soon. Would be kind of cool if they included quotes from players and such, a few people were roleplaying along with her.
Is it known what effects wand/staff melee damage/accuracy?
I know it was tested that INT increased phantom/spirit dart damage but what about their accuracy? I can think of reasons it could be either regular acc or macc.
Indeed... content designers aren't programmers so I don't understand all the complaints about SE's priorities. The biggest development aspect of a dungeon is designing what will be in it, how to complete it, what drops and the cutscenes. None of those are jobs a programmer will be good at.
Changing gear while engaged to a mob gives you a debuff that weakens the gear, so yes there is a system in place to discourage that.
What's a good place to grind SP at R30?
