Thanks mate
Thanks mate
South of Bloodshore there are bunches of R20 flytraps involved in some quest or other, so they're all 20.
Personally I find flytrap mobs one of if not the most frustrating type in the game right now (especially for melee), but they're all I can think of off hand.
edit: likewise north of Blood are lvl 20-only crabs, don't aggro but another option.
What exactly does Comfort Zone do?
I'd guess that it has something to do with synth sparking since the CUL10 ability Harmonize is described similarly "Reduces risk", though why Comfort Zone costs more ability points and only "Temporarily reduces risk" is beyond me. From what I can tell, the CUL10 just reduces/eliminates sparking.
As to what else might happen... anyone's guess.
(Just an assumption based on the CUL10 ability)
It's hard to tell if reducing risk simply means you're less likely to fail the following actions* or if it specifically refers to the risk of instability/sparking. For all we know "Risk" could be a hidden factor present in calculating synthesis action results.
Given the way Harmonize works I'd guess Risk is a hidden value that increases with each action (each action possibly having its own risk value) and effects the rate of instabilities and sparking (explains why instabilities tend to happen further along in a synth). Harmonize probably just reduces the current Risk by a certain amount while Comfort Zone might reduce or negate increases in risk for its duration.
*Worth pointing out that reducing chance of failure isn't the same as increasing chance of success as we have the neutral result as well.
Also, more suited for the crafting rqt.
wtf... /ma Sacrifice <me> doesn't work? Whats up with macros?
nvm I see it's /ac now...
I haven't played since before 1.19 and all this materia stuff is confusing me. '~'
I can create materia without being a Disciple of the Hand, right? But in order to attach I need a catalyst from gathering and be a craft class yeah? The first meld is guaranteed and then it gets progressively lower chance to succeed right? If it fails, you blow up the item, yes? I've googled this shit but there's a lot of stupid stuff and I am fucking lazy, sorry.
Also, is there a clear-cut split between the Grand Companies? Let's say: Does a certain class want to join a specific company? I've always been partial to Ul'Dah but if there's some reason why I should be something dumb like Gridania cuz it has the Lancer's guild then that's lame.
You have the gist of materia correct. Just to verify in case you you're still second guessing on anything.
-Each piece of equipment Spiritbonds through exp (basically it's own exp bar)..
-Once completely filled you can convert that gear into materia.
-The materia obtained is dice rolled based on what that slot can produce and based on the level of the equipment.
-Materia attached via a catalyst+materia+class of that equipment.
-The crafter MUST have skill equal or higher to than the piece attaching to.
-First is 100% and progressively gets lower based on equipment quality and the tier of materia being attached.
-If it fails, everything is lost
As far as Grand Companies go, Yoshida has said join what you like, because the equipment obtained from each will eventually be balanced out universally.
Think that covers everything you asked.
Since its a shot in the dark to get a party at a low level, whats good hunting grounds for about 25-30? My arc is 24.5 atm but having trouble getting more than 1 chain on the cactaurs west of horizon. Though I guess thats probably working as intended if I go back to XI style leveling.
Catching up on the Grand Company Quests now and uhhh in the Ul'Dah one it shows a bunch of weirdly-clad individuals behind Raubahn and indicates they are the Syndicate--but aren't the Syndicate the people from the Ul'Dah Main Scenario quests? That red garuka, the elezen goldsmith, the miqote dancer and the lalafell brothers? Also Thancred and I think even Y'shotla mention being from an island far to the north etc etc but doesn't Y'shotla mention in the Limsa Main Scenario quests being from Sharlaya or w/e? (Down when you visit the lalafell girl fishing and that galka guy dies... gdi i can't remember names and fuck spoilers that shit was in beta)
is this all retconned now? i imagine so but i am so BOTHERED
The galka and the lalafell brothers are important people in the miner's guild, but not syndicate. The goldsmith guy was a syndicate memberThe dancing cat-girl is just influential and well loved, but not a syndicate member.Spoiler: show
Yshtola, Thancred, Papalymo and Yldaare all from Sharlayan, which is North-West of Ishgard. Can't remember whether it was an island or not.Spoiler: show
So far the storyline still fits together, the only oddity is the ifrit fight at 25 and then meeting ifrit at the lv36 (?) main-line quest.
Is the exp reward on a crafting leve affected by the rating of your work?
From my experience, your appraisal only affects gil/item rewards. The amount of synths you complete out of the given ingredients does affect the exp rewards, though.
How does delay work on weapons? Does it only dictate the auto attack speed or does it affect cooldowns on skills?
Sentinel Head Materia any thoughts?
