Considering how many I had stocked up and how many I had already spent in the past, that exchange rate would probably max out my seals.
The protect the NPC ones the bonus 10 seals I believe come from killing all the stray mobs idling around and each star difficulty ups its another 5 seals -- 90 + 10 + 20 (5 per star) 120 max.
The new GC one where u have to poke for luminious xtals, I believe the bonus comes from not killing any extra mobs that neither have xtals or is the real pop.
Am I expected to meld materia on my gear from 30->50? That's lame. Then again, I don't even have materia on my 50 gear for the most part >_>
I should keep Blissful Mind and Cleric Stance up as often as possible, yeah? Is Sacred Prism better used with Stoneskin or Cure or I've heard things like Sanguine Rite? I'm also imagining I'll want Sanguine Rite, Resonance, and Parismony from THM. Any other cross-class skill I should watch out for, aside from Sentinel obv? (Featherfoot maybe?)
Stacking PIE and MND, yes? What exactly has more effect on Healing.. MND instead of potency?
I feel about 3000% retarded asking this: but what kind of food do I eat? Meat dish for melee I assume? Do they vary?
I think you get 5 extra seals for each difficulty level. When I did 3 stars (Level 46 mobs) I was getting 100 total. But when I was doing leves today with 4 stars (Level 49 mobs) I was getting 105 seals.
I'd have to do some more testing, but seems odd I was getting 105 today on 4 stars. Either way I finally got my mage body, and no way in hell I'm going through that again for the helmet/pants.
BTW: Rep responded they'll add new methods for seals in 1.21,but also said they have no intention on increasing the amount of seals earned from current events.
Can't offer much input on the rest of your post, but:
Blissful Mind - Yes. Keep it up and abuse it whenever you're short on MP. It's Sublimation+ from XI's SCH.
Cleric - If you're healing keep this down. If you're nuking (CON's nukes aren't terrible really) then keep it up. If you have 2 CONs in a group I personally like having one half-heal half-nuke in Cleric.
Cross class I use:
THM - Necrogenesis, Sanguine Rite, Resonance (ehh)
PGL - Featherfoot, Second Wind
ARC - Chameleon, Quelling Strike (works on nukes)
LNC - Invigorate (either this or Quelling alone is fine)
GLA - Sentinel.
That's actually 9 but I don't know what to use 10th.
Edit: And melding pre-50 gear is really unnecessary.
E2: Dark Seal from THM is good, forgot.
E3: Sacred Cure is the "oh shit" Curaga. Sacred Stoneskin is good if everyone is topped off/you don't want much more hate.
(oh shit i read cleric stance backwards woops)
Maybe. I never paid much attention to these leves so not sure if I ever did the secondary objective.
Yeah I was a little surprised when I read the details for that, makes no sense! But what else is new!
if you use mooglebox you can see the different stats for food, not sure what cons are eating. Perhaps tomatoe pie? I made my fiance eat crown cakes for his thm, hoping that is correct. On my LNC I eat shepherd's pie. The boost from food is probably relatively minimal until the next update, but if I'm willing to pay more for a few more points on materia I figure I might as well tuck in to some pie![]()
I seem to have problems finding pts 30-40, so I'm not sure if materia is worthwhile. Its pretty cheap at lower levels, and I can meld a fair amount of it so I do use materia when I can.
Resonance is the increased range JA right? It's pretty good in Ifrit if someone dies way out there on an eruption to grab them from your position on CNJ or you just need to toss a long range Curaga. Also a question on Curaga...does it have a total HP recovered cap? Sometimes I use it and only see two people get cured, other times I see the whole group getting cured. I'm not sure if it's awkward lag that's causing it to hit for a small(ish) amount, a cap, or just an odd AoE.
Curaga is roughly 1500-1800 cure, cap of 900ish per person. So it may only tag a couple people. Sacred Prism + Cura is the better "oh shit" Cure, at the cost of like 5k enmity.
And CON does nuke pretty good. Serious. This isn't like melee RDM or something. 2 CONs sitting on their asses for whatever reason, one can be a clerical SCH-wannabe or something.
I'm mostly curious because I can't be bothered to test it myself in the midst of grinding this shit...
1) For the gathering achievements, do failed gathering attempts count towards the tally? I'm leaning towards a "no" since I feel like I would have hit some of the achievements if that were the case. Side note: Fishers do not have to actually gather at "schools" of fish, any Grade-1~5 waters in Thanalan/Black Shroud/La Noscea will count towards the achievements (lol unfair).
2) Similarly, for the crafting achievements, do they count the amount of items made in a single recipe, or is it only counting the number of successfully completed synthesis attempts? I had spammed a single recipe 50 times for the first achievement, but it only made 1 item each time so it was useless for determining that.
Also, for those who weren't aware, the luminary tools take 21,960 gathers for DoL and 5,600 synths for DoH... lol.
1) Yes, however, I don't believe the instances where 'nothing bites' count. You should get 1 credit for every time you exit the approach (jig/chop/swing) phase. I can personally vouch that a failed gather on botany does count for a credit. This also applies to failed offhand gathering. It is for this reason that while I'm keeping track of how far along I am on gathering, I divide the big number by 8 (the maximum gathers per node). It makes the numbers look a little more... reasonable. Obviously, that won't work if you're at a non-school of fish though.
2) 1 Synth, 1 Credit. Item count is irrelevant. Unknown if 51~60 recipes count for credit in the 41~50 category, but doubtful. I can't personally vouch for this one, I'm just regurgitating the answer that I read from someone else.
Any attempt, success or fail counts. There was a post on one of Lodestone's DoL forums saying as much. (Sorry can't check atm)
Total brainfart here...
Is there any macro that will only bring up a subtargeting circle (without triggering any other action). Basically the functional equivalent to /target <stnpc>?
Not entirely sure what you're looking for. If you're trying to just change your target to something else, then no, /target doesn't seem to exist yet. If you're trying to just trigger an ability/spell/something, then yes, <stnpc> does exist.
There are several variations of <stnpc> options, so I'll just point you to the lodestone page and pray that it's still correct. Search for "Targeting Placeholders" to jump right to the the section with <stnpc>. "Targeting" has your targetting options.
