Granted I don't think the game is worth paying for, at 10$ a month and having any sort of job it's really not a big deal. I'm paying for two accounts(one has two characters cuz I still haven't muled my shit over lol). But whatever, people will bitch about anything.

Anyway, regarding DoL classes, I'm doing botany now (and actually not hating it). For stats it kinda seems like gathering stat is the one to aim for? I see perception affects HQ items(which I don't care about right now), output affects the number of times you can harvest a location(again, not a big deal since I get 4-5), and pumping gathering would help me 1-shot items? Really would like to one shot items....

Edit: Also I read, and know from fishing, that targeting certain items, like walnut logs or black sole, are always hit on a certain % of the gauge. Like walnut logs from grade 3 were always the top 25% of the gauge. Now that I've moved onto grade 4 I harvest/damage walnut logs all over the notch gauge. Is this because I'm a lower level/stats are lower?

That sounds just like the basic service charge, it should have been $3 more for 1 character.. looks like you didn't set that character to continue.

If you already purchased crysta from retail release, are they still forcing you to activate the character with click&buy? i got enough crysta for 2 months and was thinking it would auto-deduct.

So if you don't subscibe to XIV, are you locked out of the forums entirely? Or can you still at least view posts/etc? Right now I don't feel like paying for this game for a few reasons (Low population, arrow/manaburn mindset for endgame, etc.) however I'd still like to see rep responses.

Just here to clarify the answer to this, now that I know firsthand. You cannot post if your account is "temporarily suspended" (i.e. you didn't sign up for billing), regardless of when you last logged in.

I am one of the many who, at least for now, will not be paying for this. I'll start paying as soon as I find myself sitting on my hands doing nothing again (probably won't take long). I pulled up the forums this morning and got a 'You cannot be logged in' or something page, then I clicked the forum link again and was viewing them as a guest.

I did just read there was a limit on how long your crysta lasts. They say it's 2 years from the point you get it, and I think people who bought crysta at release will get boned if they don't use it before September 2012.

Many gift cards have the same rules on them, I remember forgetting I had/losing a gift card and it being unusable. Whether they will do something about it due to their cosmic screw-up who knows. But it was reasonable when they set it up at least :-/

I see people say something like this a lot, especially on the official forums. I have a legitimate question about this - it's not meant to bash you at all. I just don't quite understand the thinking behind it.

You're right that $10 is no big deal, but to me that's not reason enough to give it to them every month. I find it to be the equivalent of walking into a store and buying something you don't think is worth the cost just because it's cheap. It just seems weird that people would pay for something when they don't think it's worth paying for, regardless of how cheap it is.

I had existing Crysta in my account (1250)... From when they only let you buy in certain increments but it wasn't enough to pay for ffxi so when I went to subscribe last night I just selected the "Crysta" radio button and all was good.
