Major bug?
My Conjurer has Stone Throw and I can't get rid of it. I can't equip Spirit Dart anywhere because it's not in the list. What's going on?
Edit: Logging out and back in fixed it. Bug, but minor.
It's funny because I praised SE when I played Warhammer. Pissed off with all the issues they never fixed for months on end. I think I played for 4 months and they never took the time to fix any of the endgame which just ruined the game. I eventually quit when I heard they were releasing an expansion and adding new classes in 3 months. I said "SE wouldn't drag out fixes like this and cover it up with an expansion". I hope I was right and in a months time we'll see a bunch of fixes. The on thing mythic did do was talk a lot. They came out with some kinda video every week or maybe even twice a week for a while talking about random crap. I realize SE has a language barrier, but that's no excuse to just close us off like this. NA is paying money too, let us in more.
They don't tell the Japanese anything, either. Any info they'd get, we'd get through the channels of translations and Elmer and whatnot. SE just doesn't talk a lot, although in their defense, the only real companies that engaged in a ton of dialogue for these types of games prior to 2001 were indie developers and MUD games.
SE should realize, however, that things change rapidly in business, and you have to be able to keep up. The rules have changed since FFXI launched, and they need to keep up, or get swept away.
To follow up on Lucavi's post, SE should realize that in 2010, it's time to open the lines up to the customers. After all, we may be a "player base" but we are simply paying customers like any consumer. I don't know that I want them to hear EVERY point like Blizzard tends to do with WoW but some sort of heads up would be most excellent. Along those same lines, regardless of the hardcore FF fans that care, Cataclysm is coming sometime in the next couple months and if FF doesn't have a solid foundation by that time, look for Blizzard to mop up the in-between players and soak them up in WoW. That may not be what people want to hear but it is the truth. The same thing happened with Warhammer/Age of Conan and Wrath of the Lich King. Those of us who play(ed) WoW know what product they are pushing and we know that we can count on their product when we log on.
It's a silly statement because no other form of gaming or media demands this much attention from the developers. If we were like "any consumer", we would be fine with the end product or not play it at all. Now we are not fine with the end product but play it anyway, and in some cases even feed off the out-of-game communication and let that affect our decisions. It's very unique.
Either way, AoC/War =/= XIV. SE is looking at a smaller playerbase but as the result the game isn't really competing with other recent and upcoming titles as much as people might think.
What I mean is, to SE, we are simply paying customers. If you think any differently, then please go read their whole "SE OWNS THIS CHARACTER AND RESERVES THE RIGHT TO TERMINATE AS WE FIT" etc etc. Sure, they hear feedback but there are forums for everything in the world from MMA, video games, coupons, politics, music, the news, nascar, sports, /b/ etc.
Spoiler: show
What's it mean by "Your bonus physical level rises"?
From what I heard, your "bonus" skill raises independently from your other skills and there is some advantage to leveling it. Like uhh more tolerance to fatigue for example? Not sure if that has changed since OB.
Hmm. What else are we?What I mean is, to SE, we are simply paying customers.
Was www.ffxivpro.com mentionned somewhere? Nice try by XIAH people but fail to see this working anyway![]()
Is limsa the only place for level 20 mining leves? Other cities don't have anything.
EDIT looking at guildleve list, yes that's the case with the 30 being in uldah
I don't know what is up with the rank 10 craft leve's. I am rank 12 armorer with the rank 12 hammer and fail on rank 10 ones with support horribly, not even close to finishing them around 80% of the time.
Also getting rank 15 local leve's showing up at level 9-10 is fucking retarded. At this point attempting synths even 1 rank over you is pretty much just asking for fail.
What's up with my AOEs? I can cast a spell on a target in a group in front of me and it only hits one of them. Yes AOE is on, it asks me to select a target after I click the spell.
i have a few questions before i pick up my cheap edition copy tomorrow:
Is the updater the same as in the beta? I ask that because the updater ran like shit for me.
If so can you download updates somewhere like in the beta?
I swear I used the search.
I appreciate the change to the market wards, and it'll go a long way towards simplifying item searches (even items in the wrong ward will probably be related, like armor in a weapon shop), but it's still a lot more effort intensive than FFXI. To be fair, FFXI's AH worked fine without a search function. I'm not (necessarily) asking for typing in a name or some conditions and instantly getting what I want and this is a lot better than the old bazaar system. However, walking to the wards and going from shop to shop looking for something that might not even be there is, while somewhat realistic, not something I'm gunna tolerate for too long. I see what they're going for, and I actually kinda like it: looking for one thing and finding something you didn't expect is one of the best parts of liking co-I mean shopping. That said, most times you don't intend to browse, you just want to get what you came for and leave. That's why people preorder or otherwise call ahead: they don't wanna fuck around when what they want ain't there.
