Is there any situations when ACC rings are a better choice than STR rings as a DRG?
According to some testing I read on the official forums where STR "caps" (or at least suffers high diminishing returns) at around 290, acc can't hurt. Until someone is able to pinpoint x amount of accuracy needed on whichever mob, I guess if you're missing a bit then you could swap in an acc ring. But then the odd miss here or there on drg isn't that bad, since you can combo feint -> disembowel.. so there' that.. lol
Even after the 280 cap on STR it's still good for +attack.

Only thing I changed was no rings > rubelite ring and rubelite ring+1.
Are attack gains from STR not displayed or is this statement about STR adding to attack just totally wrong?
They're not displayed.
While people are on the subject of attack, is there a known cap? As Drg on Ifrit i really can't see a difference between 600 atk and 740 atk with Power Surge III on with either auto attacks or WS.
Couple noob materia questions:
1. Does the "Materia level X--" on the materia item info correspond to the "Affixing" level listed on gear?
2. If so, does that mean the materia level must be <= the affixing level, and the crafting level must be >=the affixing level?
3. Why are the 3rd and 4th tiers of materia the same materia level with different stats? Why would anyone get 3rd tier?
4. Is it worth even looking at materia before something like the 40s?
1. The level on a materia indicates the minimum level a piece of gear must be in order to meld it to. (T1 is all gear, T2 is 31+, T3&T4 are 41+)
2. The level required to affix materia to an item is the same as the level to equip.
3. To make T4 materia more rare and it's easier to multi-meld lower tier materia.
4. Not really, no. It can be massively helpful but you update gear so often than unless you can attach it all yourself its not worth the trouble.
How should I look for stats on leveling pgl? str, int, atk or some other order?
ACC most important if not capped
then it goes ATT > STR > INT
so has this game got any better? i played for a few months off and on end of last year and liked it but havnt touched it since.
im going to have some free time this summer and thinking about jumping back into this or maybe trying out Tera?
I played from late beta into 'launch/release' beta and came back only about a month ago. The game went from "wtf this is considered a game?" to a game this is "actually enjoyable, playable, and fun"
Still got a while to go in some peoples eyes due to how sugar-coated MMOs have become.
This^. It is far better, I just started back recently myself. It does take some getting used to, still far different from any other mmo, even it's daddy XI. But I have been having fun once I got the hang of battle a little more. Hopefully the merge will fix the population problem, my number one problem being low level.
As far as Tera and this, completely different games. Can't say which you'd like more, but since you already have xiv you can try it for just $10.
Thanks Fievel and Niiro.
