Alright thanks, does PTY help alot? i figured it would be like 80% usage towards mp, and 20% towards lnc's dmg

Not quite sure on the exact formula, all I know is Strength and Piety are a LNC/DRG's modifiers for auto attack. Someone with more knowledge on stats would probably be able to help you out more.
All the info i needed, thannks
Is there anywhere i can find detailed materia information? for instance, if i have an item and i want to bind a high-end attack materia to it, can -anyone- (that has the ability to meld) do it? or do i need a specific DoH or a specific level?
You need a crafter who matches the craft that made the item in question (should also match the craft required to repair it as well)
AND they need to be a level that is equal or greater than the required/optimal level for equipping the item
AND they need to have a materia melder (or the augmented materia melder for melding multiple materia on a single item).
For example: If you wanted materia melded onto say, a Woolen Robe... you would need a Weaver, level 41 or higher. (WVR being the craft that makes/repairs Woolen Robes, and 41 being the optimal level to equip a Woolen Robe)
I see, so the requirement is the same if i want to meld an atk I or an atk IV?

-crit rate gear sucks
-crit attack power sucks and anything worth fighting
For THM INT is the obvious choice but second to that it's kind of insignificant. 22 MND is only 5.5 macc and we don't know where SE is gonna go with enfeebs as far as PIE is concerned. I personally went with PIE in the hopes that whatever it may do will be more useful than a measly 5 macc.
crit rate sucks? thats kinda disheartening. just from reading LNC's abilities, youd figure they would be an accuracy/crit rate class. but i guess in this case, my alternative is another 3 or 4 def and 14 hp.
Just look at the info on the piece of gear in question, it will say the craft, the required level to repair, and the required level to meld materia to it.
The repair requirement is 10 levels below the gear's equip level, the melding requirement is the same as the equip level.
ie. A cobalt haubergeon's equip level is 48 and it's an ARM synth. It can be repaired by a R38+ ARM and have materia melded to it by a R48+ ARM.

The second one is a lot more mathy but to boil it down: on a mob of equal level +1 crit potency = +0.1729% damage on critical hits and only gets worse as mob level increases.
It also applies to magic crit potency and what not to in case you're curious. So never touch any BLM AF except the feet and hands until you can get some better stuff (Mages Halfgloves are a pretty good replacement. Haven't found anything to replace feet yet.)
Also, since you're planning on going BLM and DRG, do BLM first since DRG isn't wanted for any fights outside of the miniboss for Cutter's Cry.
Mahog pattens with Hell's fist.
Can also put thunder/fire materia in them if you wanna carry around 2 pairs (and can find the materia, I'd only recommend it if you're looking to go balls->wall for THM/BLM).
to be honest im kinda up in the air about what class/job to play and im spinning in circles. i have con and lnc to 22, i want to have a good class at 50 before 2.0, possibly before 1.22, but i need a DoL or something for funds x.x..
I'm Lvl. 11, on Golden Sacrifices, and gonna head to Camp Drybones after I get off of work tomorrow morning. Is there anything else I should do before heading out for my 10+ leveling? I'm a Thaumaturge & I'm wearing Hempen Dalmatica gear and using a Bone Staff. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Where can I find that scepter?

Buy one off the wards or get the mats and shout for a crafter. Should be easy since it's a low-level recipe.
I'm thinking about trying the game again for a month or so. Has leveling changed anyhow from patch 1.20?
I went from 8ppl Leve parties to 8ppl raptor ones. Soloing Leves was simply dull and boring, while Behest was dead.
Now, I take people party-grind using Jobs instead?
Has Leve Solo undergone any changes, maybe becoming more worth since Grand Company ranks were introduced?
