I'm thinking about trying the game again for a month or so. Has leveling changed anyhow from patch 1.20?
I went from 8ppl Leve parties to 8ppl raptor ones. Soloing Leves was simply dull and boring, while Behest was dead.

Now, I take people party-grind using Jobs instead?
Has Leve Solo undergone any changes, maybe becoming more worth since Grand Company ranks were introduced?

Eh, wouldn't say it changed much. Rest EXP bonus can make solo grinding less painful.

As for jobs and parties. I'd say it doesn't matter much since 8 people is overkill enough for a party IMO.

A crafter took pity upon me and gave me that scepter for free. I dislike handouts and the self-imposed baggage that they come with. I'll be sure to help the gentleman out when I has the billions of gil.

I also bought a bunch of chicken eggs. I imagine I can cook something with the ones I don't eat raw. I'm all set for Camp Drybones once I get some free time in my schedule. I can't wait for Lvl. 30 so I can do the Black Mage quest and destroy worlds once again.

are ifrit's weapon still better than moogle's weapon due to the higher base dmg from the weapons?

By and large yes, but there are exceptions in situations where ACC is an issue.

If you use 2 electrum rings and an Ifrit weapon you're probably better off with a moogle weapon and 2 damage stat rings.

Take WAR as an example:

Ifrit Axe + 2x electrum rings is 30 ATK 30 ACC
Moogle Axe + 2 rubelite rings is 30 STR 30 ACC *20 ATK

Aside from the fact that 1 STR is more damage than 1 ATK, you also get 20 ATK from the 30 STR in your rings. In this case Moogle axe would be superior.

The other factors are the -0.1 delay and +15 crit on Moogle vs the 4 base damage on Ifrit, I can't quantify those with any confidence but I would still consider the Moogle axe superior.
