To answer the question about the stars next to leves when you trade them in, it is not based completely off of the level of the leve or the difficulty you did it at although those may be a contributing factor.

I have done leves at many different levels and difficulty within the same reset period, and there seemed to be no correlation between those two factors. In fact, some leves would give different star values when the option comes up to trade them in for a different leve. (I.E. One leve might be 1 star for the first leve I try to trade it in for, but when I go to trade it in for my second leve, it's suddenly 2 stars.) I believe level, difficulty, your score during the leve, and the type of leve all factor together in a compatibility rating that effects what type of bonus that leve gives when trading it in.

Maybe it's just my server, but I've been wandering around the Market Wards whenever I set up my retainer each night, and I've only ever been able to find junk. The only equipment I've seen is Wands and Shields, apart from that it's all retards Bazaaring Walnuts.

I hate this stupid market system.

if you have shock spikes, yes. Not all of them though of course.

Solo'd LL Rank 20s at GLD12/PHY18 on 1 star with Second Wind, Bloodbath, Cure and god knows what else I have equipped, wasn't really hard but I had to home point 3-4 times on one of them... 500 skills per mob easily

Yes, some of them are soloable for sure, I've been doing Rank 20 leves since level 14 as an Archer.



Also, does anyone know if Stygian Spikes can be used on a DoW job, and how much they are nerfed if they can be used?

Are item rewards random? I noticed that nearly 75% of the leves in Open Beta had some sort of item reward a long with the gil reward. Now, I rarely see an item reward. I remember some leves having hidden rewards, but is that still the case now? Haven't been able to outfit my miner with any new attire =(

Afaik they just gimped how often item can appear as rewards in retail

I'm sure it's every server. The people who have their bazaar selling only 1-2 pieces of jewelry for 5k apiece piss me off as well.

So apparently lvl20+ local levequests randomly give guild marks instead of money. If you've given up on crafting until they make it un-annoying it might be a good idea to just take the craft you want to 15-16 to attempt the lvl20 leves every 36hrs. The trainings should help a ton with synths later on.

Guild marks for crafting is(at least for me) a random reward for completing rank 20 local leves. They're not displayed as a reward and upon turning in your items you randomly get them. I've gotten 750ish leather marks from my last 20 leve as a random reward.

I dunno if anyone knows... but I guess a theory might be that it either increases odds of gathering rare items, or increases the amount of attempts you get at a single gathering point. (it's for Disciplines of the Land, only, along with Gathering and Output)

I think it's probably a combination of difficulty rating, recommended rank, and the speed in which you completed it.

You can equip it on DoW jobs, it still absorbs MP at same rate (20% of damage taken, give or take. Havn't tested if it is still capped at 20 MP absorbed) but lasts half as long and has 20s longer recast, it starts to blink when timer resets so you can still keep it up all the time.

I'm loving stygian spikes+cure setup for leveling, infi-MP on DoW jobs, even on GLA using red lotus often as a backup WS. So long as fights are constant (longer between fights, worse it becomes).

Has anyone done collecting sea shells faction leve? I just started it and nothing is showing up on my map, so I have no idea where to go.

Edit: By start, I mean I accepted it from the guildleve NPC and can't find the starter npc for the actual quest.
