Major updates in October (we just got it), November, and December, and then every 3 months after that, probably so that the developers can actually go home at some point and have a meal with their families. I assume they've been working some serious overtime.

Nothing wrong with this schedule, so long as they actually leave us a relatively polished game come January 1st.

So there is an increased fee for selling stuff in the wrong ward...what is that fee?? I don't see it listed anywhere. Everyone has just piled into wards 1 and 2.

As far as I understand it there is no extra fee. Simply the tax you pay on selling stuff is less, if you use the correct ward.

ppl will soon realize its stupid to put in the wrong ward, since everyone that will be looking for something will go to the correct one.

    The taxes are:

10% outside of the market wards (Same as it has been)

5% for putting the wrong item up for sale in your particular market ward (Same as it has been)

2% for the correct item in your particular market ward.

And this is why the system fails. I don't want to have to check my retainer every hour to hope something sold, move it to a different ward and sell one thing at a time. You'll soon realise how much this sucks after doing it for the next week. Unless you're not a crafter, in which case your copper ores will sell a bit faster now.

Truth. Things are technically slightly better now, but slightly better than the shittiest system of any game in all of history is still not good.

Just price your random junk very competitively and I'm sure it will sell pretty fast even if it's in the wrong ward. With most players having a number of jobs, they can make use of a big number of items and will pick up things they weren't specifically looking for if the price is right. Especially after they add more retainers.

Or just do what I'd do and sell one or two types of things. I sold pretty much nothing but shields, helmets, pants and gloves and made millions. Apparently, with this system, I'd have made MORE millions because I'd have had less tax taken out.

    Confound it all.

You've made over 60 million on shields/helmets/pants/gloves? I find that hard to believe.

Anyone with a brain who wants their X-item to sell is going to be in the X-Ward now. This shit is better by a long shot.

Who said 60 million? Millons = plural. Simply having 2 mil (I have more, though), denotes millions. I didn't think 60 was the cut-off before you can start saying millions.

These updates confirm that the PC is a paid beta.

PS3 release - A decent solid MMO with most of the basic features you expect.

PC release - A laughable, frustrating paid beta.

Well look at it this way: if you bought the game in September, played through Oct. 22, then never paid again until PS3 launch, its like you didn't lose out on anything.

I don't think you'd have made much. Because if you stuck your retainer in the ward that sells shields, no one would go there looking for helmets, pants or gloves. Other people would be making those millions on helmets, pants and gloves in other wards while you wait for the shields to sell.

Since you're only able to sell shields, you may as well put ten up. But of course they're going to sell slow because there's now ten to get rid of rather than 2-3. Normally it's far more efficient to have two shields, helmets, pants and gloves on your retainer and restock each product as they sell.

Of course the changes mean you can't do this any more and you will have to get used to sticking ten shields on your retainer and keeping your helmets, pants and gloves waiting until all those shields go so you can move it elsewhere. But then, you want to sell more shields? Tough, you're selling helmets now so you can't.

I make money from multiple crafts, or at least used to. Now I've got to pick one item and sell nothing but that. The idea of moving a retainer around when shit sells doesn't work, because normally when shit sells you make another and restock.

Anyone who thinks this system is better isn't thinking right or doesn't craft.

But the X-items (plural! I do not just sell one thing!) "belong" in multiple wards, and I have equal amounts of PUG and THM weapons to sell, both of which make me roughly the same profit. I can hardly see my situation being uncommon, and is horribly unsuited to the market wards.

Yeah, I never liked the idea of only stacking a single type on my vendor, because then you aren't attracting the biggest market. Typically I'd have 3 of 2 items and 2 of 2 other items, with the prices slightly different. The first people to visit the bazaar would buy up the items at the lower price, then the second wave would scoop up the second. I typically sold everything in one night.

I dunno what my new method would be, should/when I come back. I suppose I should be happy I saved up a nice little nest egg when I did.

My current strategy is to put my retainer in the ward I think it will get the most views. I imagine a lot of people want DoW weapons so it goes there. I do sell a DoW weapon, but hopefully people browsing will see the DoH tools, the armour, the alchemy mats and other things that don't fit there. I can't move wards because I replace the DoW weapon as it sells.

Anyone who doesn't think this system is better and crafts, are in linkshells with high level crafters who can supply them with everything. I prefer looking through 3 bazaars before finding my dyes, rather than looking through 300 bazaars and then ending up not buying any cause the price gouging alchemist know people look through 300 bazaars to find their retainer and are pretty fucking desperate by the time they do.

More people will visit the wards now that they don't have to waste an hour of their life every time they do, so maybe your selling rate won't end up decreasing much if at all. Just cut the prices a little bit for off-ward items.
