Looks like they're doing what they should be doing. I'm satisfied. It's on the support center and not visible on the Lodestone.

edit: see above
My game just arrived. :D
Now if only I could play haha.
I'm impressed with the notebook, I was expecting something poor after hearing about the US' travel journal. But this thing has about 70 pages, each with an image from the game. Map is nice too and I have a new thing to fill up with Vodka and coke. I think the US got shafted with the CE. lol.
Is that the hardback book? If so it repeats pictures XD
Oh wow, I didn't even notice! I only looked through it quickly before putting it back in the box.
Yeh doubles up on most pics and at the end it has dif pics of scenery I believe.
How did I not notice something like that x.x; I don't recall ever getting Skill points when healing people while not engaged, and I must have done it a million times on people with aspect after things have died. Maybe I'm misunderstanding how it worked, but glad they're fixing it either way.
Hope leves don't reset with maint, I didnt finish the ones from last reset yet ;;
You need to be in a party that is engaged with a mob.
So does this plan sound good for after maintenance?
1) Rush out of Gridania, level up CNJ to 10.
2) Go get rank 10 battle leves and do them on one star.
3) Get rank 1 CRP leves and do them.
4) Go to Ul'dah and get the rank 10 and 1 leves there.
5) Do the same at Limsa Lominsa.
6) EXP CNJ more.
Or can anyone think of a more efficient way to begin?
I don't pretend to understand how the exploit worked, but I can tell you that 'healing with an engaged mob' isn't it. Thats how healing has always worked. In Alpha it was broken that you could get skillups while healing for 0, and that was fixed later in beta.
If I'm understanding Cureslime right, it was something to do with Guardian aspect that didn't require you to be engaged, wasnt effected by fatigue and didn't require you to heal for anything. Either that or he just doesn't know what the fuck hes talking about.
Who cares anyway, its being fixed.
I discovered it on a leve with my LS, but I only later learned it was an exploit. It sucks, but technically any job that has cure or sacrifice can exploit this, since you get skill ups from cross class abilities.
I considered reporting myself, but I haven't done it with favour since then. In general, it's hard for mages to get skill ups in a party unless they're curing, unless you want someone to die. It's easy to see what's exploitative and what isn't.
You had to be engaged (to the point where the mob can disengage if you run away), it was easier to get skill ups if people were hurt, and aspect only made getting the skill up more frequent (and uncapped), but you could do the same thing in a regular fight with no favour.
How it works is you grab favor, be in a large party, engage a mob (but don't attack it) and spam sacrifice. Skill ups can proc off of heal and also regen since you are healing others while being engaged. But yes good riddance. Wonder how it'll affect mages though.
I don't want to urk this shit on, but how could that possibly be it? That's how healing fucking works, since Alpha. If you grab a mob, sit in a corner while it whacks somebody and spam heals.. yeah you'll get some skillups. How is that an 'exploit', don't see how its any different than whacking shit with a level 1 spear to skillup in XI.. or spamming Protect to skill enhancing in Jeuno.
There's something else to it you're not mentioning causing it to function incorrectly.
I doubt they would take away skill ups from curing, that would be retarded and just discourage people actually doing things other than attacking mindlessly.
edit: the exploit from specifically from guardian's favour, since you can bypass fatigue and I think the skill cap (500) as well, if you keep doing this you could potentially get thousands of skill points per mob in a relatively short time.
Without favour, skill ups are less frequent and not as high, you also can't get more than a specific amount.
What is the limitation on Behests?
