    They fixed the cure hate problems super early on, it was probably after you quit. By the time I started grinding GLDs were hate gods and mages could curebomb 6+ DDs at a time and not pull hate. If you were getting one shot by mobs then you were either doing mobs too hard or doing the wrong ones for exp. That is going to be true with any system unless they nerf said mobs. The other system gave you a reason to fight the large monsters in the game as well, unlike this one which rewards you for searching out the weakest puny bullshit mobs you can find.

    I for one enjoyed the fact that the longer a fight was the more exp you got, but that's just me. If you enjoy killing the Uld equivalent of Wharf Rats to 50 then I guess this new system suits you.

    I've said it before, but both systems suck. I can get 10k per hour in the current system soloing + behest every hour but grinding on coblyns from 20-50 is not going to be fun no matter which job you play. I plan to grind on slugs from about 34-50 so I can get coral for my goldsmith, but that's going to be even less fun because it's a shitty mob. On the plus, I'll care more about coral per hour than SP per hour.

    And I think it's stupid to hold back on your most powerful attacks in the hopes of drawing out a fight. That's ridiculously counter-intuitive. Oh shit, I'm so fucking awesome at killing shit that it actually hurts my leveling! Or the party equivalent: Hey guys, I know this is where parties in our range get the best SP, but we're actually playing too well or are geared too well or something and need to go fight something that isn't so much harder, just has much HP. Or don't use any TP. Hey you, the gladiator, stop tanking quite so well.

    That's retarded.

    I don't think anybody would have a problem with even 5-6k exp/hr if there was leveling content that was actually enjoyable (i.e. not 2-shotting 50 million coblyns for 30 levels.) If the experience is going to be boring and grindy I'd rather it be as fast as possible.

    I like the combat in small doses. Ground the last 10k exp to 26 on fat dodos/skeleton packs so I could do the rank 26 story quest the other day. Even finally got my Skull Eyepatch +3 that nobody would sell me. Would I just grind on general principle from 26-50 just to be 50? Ehhhhhh no thanks. It gets old pretty fast due to lack of variation and lack of skill necessary to play. I'd rather browse the internet/watch movies while spamming standard on crafts since fun content for crafting is probably never going to happen.

    Fighting the skeleton pairs at 25 was really fun and actually pretty challenging. Needs more stuff like that in the game (though not all up in my face while I'm trying to do leves.)

    I was never in a pt where people held back powerful moves in an attempt to get more sp. I agree the old system needed some tweaks like even more sp for wses and less for melee attacks, but the system was innovative and fun imo. It was kind of like skilling up in FFXI just a lot more important. This new system is still decent in parties. We were getting 10k+ an hour in Mistbeard on Yarzons and Ahrimans, and even in Tam-Tara on Efts with no healer. I guess what is really killing pt exp is the exp from Leve Linking. Everyone just spends a night leve linking and after that they have no interest in partying. With a larger hardcore playerbase this would probably be more of a non-issue, but we won't have them back until we get some content.

    So I guess it leads back to the one big issue, MORE CONTENT. I'll end this discussion on that note.

    Random Question: Did they increase Bloodbath hp cured for non MRD classes? I'm getting cured over 400 on 600dmg Doomspikes on LNC.

    How well does PTing work ATM? Friend told me SE broke it in a last patch and it's about as effective as soloing.

    The old system you potentially got more SP but it was unreliable due to the randomness of everything. New system you get reliable SP but in shitty amounts. Both are bad.

    Obviously a quick fix that didn't have a lot of thought or planning put into it. While I'm not happy with it I'm not surprised that there haven't been any more changes to SP made yet. Actually balancing something like that would take time and planning. We should, hopefully, see something soon. That is if it isn't working as intended in which that case fuck it I'm out, and I guaran-damn-tee I will be one of many.

    You have to all be skill boost range for it be anywhere near effective. When trioing a leve, one of the members dinged and went out of my leve boost range causing my skill gains went from 260ish to 210ish. Later on we duoed with a leve with him +6 ranks above me, I was gaining about 66% of the skill he was.

    Even then, scaling isn't amazing so the best skill/hr is near insta-killing weak mobs for 50~60 skill (ie 4 man pt on iron cobs/puks at r~30) rather than harder mobs. They need to apply a bonus for fighting harder mobs or something with coblyns as the baseline, maybe a chaining system that only works on DC+ (based on party check etc).

    EDIT:: And one of the worst things about the old system was how it hurt small statics, due to huge difference in skill gains between members. My guild use to trio hippos around r22~24 and sometimes when we went to exp I would be getting 200~300/fight while the con and gla were getting shit (0~100) so we would move, and then all get meh skill because none of the other camps 'worked'.

    So even if you put up with the differences (which were present even when everyone was getting 'good' skill) you would end up with people out leveling others over time.

    Yeah even the leve system of SPing is retarded. I have to solo all my leves because I'm too low to do them with my LSs and get worthwhile SP. What's more is due to shitty surplus catching them before they hit 50 is next to impossible.

    Well guess I'll stick to soloing. Although I found that a huge pain in the ass.

    Yeah, that sh*t was beyond absurd. When you are seriously having a hard time choosing between level-appropriate gear and outdated gimp gear because you "do too much damage" with good gear, that is just dumb. You literally had mages telling people to de-equip gear so they would take more damage (and give bigger healing SP procs). And then you had melees spamming gimped, ineffective abilities like Close Shot and Heavy Thrust because of the SP proc on debuff. It was just ridiculous.

    So for DoW, what's the better healing option when solo: Cure2 or Sacrifice2? (Presuming that the 94HP minimum requirement of Sac2 is not a factor.)

    I remember that in beta, Sac1 was utterly useless for self healing on DoW; the HP cost made it a total waste of time compared to Cure1. However, in the 11/25 update, they increased the healing potency of the Sacrifice line. Is Sac2 now a viable substitute for Cure2 on DoW?

    For me, with Prime Conditioning, Sacrifice 2 heals about 280 HP with a 94 HP cost. So, that's about 186 net HP, plus it heals about 20 hp/tic for 20 sec. Cure 2 is just a straight heal for around 305. Overall, Sacrifice heals more HP I think, but Cure 2 is better in a pinch when you need that HP right now. I'd honestly strongly suggest getting both Conj and Thaum to 20, they both give you so many great tools to boost your melee class and it really doesn't take too long. If you can't though, Thaum is the one to have hands down; Stygian Spikes and Siphon MP are amazing.

    It's more of a question of which to do first.

    Cure1 isn't cutting it, and I need more power; better healing is the primary motivator. But I realize I'll need Siphon MP, so I'm figuring that I can kill two birds with one stone by doing THM20, and then level CNJ (rank8 right now) when I need something else important.

    THM gets your Stygian Spikes as well. Assuming you don't NEED shock spikes to grind, Stygian will keep your MP high, in conjunction with Siphon MP, you'll never run out. Not to mention Slow is a great tool for solo as well.

    What rank can I buy the 10 stat converters with marks? I assume 30 but maybe I am wrong.

    R30 for DEX<->MND and PIE<->VIT
    R40 for STR<->INT (I think; it's not available at R30)

    I'm pretty sure that each class has 2 tier-II conversion traits available when you finish the rank-30 quest (10,000 marks each) and then one more tier-II when you finish the rank-36 quest (12,000) marks.

    Yeah, Will to Power II and Muscle Memory II are not available anywhere until you finish a rank-36 quest.
