Are crafting class' Guild Marks a predetermined reward written on the Local Leve description, or is it a nifty surprise upon completion, replacing the usual Gil reward?

predetermined
Thank you~ That's good to hear.
I am sick of not having a decent Fishing Rod, so I was thinking of slowly working on it myself... which is Goldsmithing + Armoring + Woodworking I think? I noticed quite a few of the recipes involved recommend "Tacklecraft Training" which I plan on eventually getting through Cooking (needed for making bait anyways). Either way, has anyone noticed if the recipes like the reel and the rod itself are excessively difficult without the training?
Aside, of course, from conjuring up some Iron Wire, a fuckin' Rank-21 Armorer recipe. No wonder no one has any decent fishing rods.
Also... I found something odd regarding multiple recipes for the same item and was wondering if anyone else came across something similar.
There are two Cooking recipes for 12 Goby Balls (fishing bait)
Bloodworm + Distilled Water + Rye Flour + Striped Goby
&
Bloodworm + Distilled Water + Rye Flour + Merlthor Goby
The Striped Goby version is entirely normal while the Merlthor Goby version, by default, always makes 12 Goby Balls +1. Every time, no HQ animation, no Tacklecraft Training, nothing. It's an easy recipe for me, but I know for a fact I am not actually HQing it.
Once you hit Fulfillment or Maker's, do you guys spam through the colour orbs, or do you wait on them?
Once I activate fulfillment I just power through the flashies (standard mostly). I usually never skip the the red/yellow solids, regardless of my current effect state. I almost never use rapid, it fails too much now.
I just spam through colored orbs on skill up recipes. On something important I'll use wait once on Reds to see if I can get something more favorable. Also for any synth that I'm at <=15 durability and >=85% progress -> Use ability and standard. Tends to work.
What is the best synth(s) on which to powerlevel Leathercrafting to about 10?
Sheepskins aren't cheap / common enough that I want to just buy them in bulk to make leather. If I could farm about 30 sheepskins in 2 hours or so I'd be willing to do that, but not sure if there's an area that gets that kind of drop rates.
Sheepskin -> Sheep Leather -> Sheepskin Vamps
Then NPC a stack of vamps for 10.5k. I did this to 15 lol.
Heh. How many stacks of Sheepskin do you think that would take, ballpark? 3, 10, 15?
I'm 99% sure that there is a 'dice roll' at the start of a synthesis that has a 5-10% chance of taking effect(that I believe is linked to soft fatigue), that will result in you failing around 70-90% of your synth attempts during that time. Example; doing a rank 30 leve at 27 making leather harnesses(which I make to sell all the time). I fail like.. maybe 1 in 8 or so on a regular basis primarily due to a bad elemental instability that I can't turn around. Anyway, today I make one for the leve with maybe one fail attempt the entire synth until completion. Next attempt I fail 90% of every synth resulting in a fail. Next attempt I succeed with no fails at all. I notice this trend pretty frequently as I spend most of my time in game crafting. The %'s might be a little off, but has anyone else noticed a similar trend?
I've definitely observed this in my own experiences. I can't really give any kind of reasonable estimate as to its rate of occurrence, but it is goddamn annoying when you feel like the game has predetermined that you are going to fail a given craft attempt.
^
Especially on a level quest. Just grinding is annoying, but I can deal with. Leve quests are a different story as I'm trying to pump up quality and score some marks(if they still exist).
Just thought I should add, the above situation as happened to me as well even when I do: Fail > wait > fail > wait > fail, etc. all on white orbs. I believe there's a 'stress' factor involved that builds so even if you have a white orb your fail rate will be rather high and it's best just to do a wait. Every time I fail twice in a row, I wait no matter the color of the orb just to relieve this 'stress'. I've had pretty good results so far.
I feel like it goes the other way too. I was burning up some Distilled Water and River Crabs trying to make Crab Balls even though they were out of my league on top of requiring Tacklecraft Training that I didn't have. I completely and utterly failed 11/12 synths while one was the easiest success from just spamming Standard the whole way through with no abilities.
Has any Weaver successfully made Canvas Hats yet? Trying to find out what level I need to get leatherworking to to attempt it. I am currently 21 LW and it wont even let me attempt it yet.
Probably 15?
