I still blow up the odd hide at rank 24 on leves, so 25 is probably optimal rank to start synthing them if you don't want to waste hides.

If you're just ranking up you should probably stay on dodoskin vamps til 27 or so. Buffalo Hides are still too limited.
I dunno how you LWs do it man, I'm getting around 200 per synth now at 22, and it'll only get worse the higher I go.
Alternatively, I do have like 70 dodoskins left. That's a lot of vamp money...
Dodo is nice because you at least break even with your skill ups, which makes up for shitty SP. I've probably gotten the last 20k from leves however as I'm in no hurry. Although I do want to be high enough to repair my R38 bow so I'll have to speed up a bit.
You could probably hasty hand them and do alright from rank 10 or so I would guess. At rank 22 I had 84% success, 11% half fail, and 5% complete fail. You get so much value out of hasty handing that it's totally worth eating the failures.
You could hasty hand from rank 1 and still turn a profit I would guess.
Not having Chemicking Training is probably going to be the primary reason for Hasty Hand failing so often.
Before the crystal change I didn't want to lose any synths to hasty hands. But now, I don't give a shit because I have loads of crystals. I could barely keep 10 Lightning Crystals, now I have like 50. So beautiful.
So the whole thing where if you trade in a local leve, the rank on the one you wanted to get changes, has that been confirmed to be a bug or a game mechanic?
Say I have an 'Ingenuity' (materials given automatically) leve with the NPC in Lolfog or some other bullshit I'm never going to go to - I'd prefer to just do the synth for the free SP, then trade the unfinished leve for a new one if I'm out of room. The last time I did this, I picked up an R15 (my class is R17), but once I traded an unfinished leve for it magically became R35 - i.e. completely useless.
I know other people have mentioned it before... is this going to be fixed or is SE punishing us for trying to take advantage of the leve system?
everyone believes it is a mistake and some swear it is fixable by logging, others say it isnt fixable.
I have tried trading in local leve's for new ones a few times. Everytime the leve has lowered in rank which is useless to me. So I picked up a rank 5 leve thinking maybe it will change to a higher rank, traded that in and it changed to rank 1. ><
Maple Syrup is good if you get sap. Sap is easy to get from 10+ BTN as well.
Anyone notice that before when you dyed cloth/leather, you needed dyeing training? But now when you do it, all you need is tanning or weaving. Does this actually mean you don't need dyeing training at all, or did SE fuck up and you need the training but it just doesn't show it?
I got dying training thinking I needed it for fabric, but now it doesn't seem to have helped at all. So maybe it isn't needed anymore at all.
Just grinded Blacksmith to 32 on Iron Gorge Hooks; SP starting to dip below 190ish. What's next after these? I'm not really seeing many mat/shard-friendly synths for awhile-- any advice is appreciated. Is grinding on steel nails unavoidable or is there something else? Looking to take it to at least R40.
Once you get books, lvling LW is much easier, you could probably do buffalo hides at like 22-23 if ya get the book. Also have al your craft gear optinal rank (or higher is even better for more stats at times) and (for me) alot control, you can do crafts about 5 levels over you (which is about 300-400SP crafts)
although LW 28-30+ will be a pain (especially on palamecia server anyway) no one exp's on toads.... and the wards have a nonexistant amount of them, hope you got a DoW/DoM high enough to farm the things , because thats the only decent sp thing there is... >.>
40+ is killing me atm with nonexistant mats, need to go farm more...
Advice then for LW 32-38ish?
Since it looks like I won't have dodore anytime soon, is there anything worth upgrading my velvet gear to? The stats on linen look like a disappointment.
