I'm still nervous about standard because of the potential -25, but so far it's treated me fairly good. I got through my 48 bronze plates with only 2 fails as a 13 armorer, so I can't complain.

Edit: Bold... wow. I got a 97 quality omni-crit earlier using bold. Granted, the synth was way below me, but it leads me to believe that we'll be able to pump out massive +2 n00b gear for our other low jobs.

How do you remove gear with a macro? As in, not replacing it with another piece. I need a naked macro for crafting.

Leve rank recommendations are all over the place. Need to check Lodestone to find out the real difficulty of the synth.

Empty equip: "/equip head" will remove headgear.

For the people needing undyed canvas, someone on ZAM posted that the Revenants in Cassopeia Hollow drop it pretty regularly. I am not sure what level the mobs are, though.

You were crazy, because Rapid in it's former state was much better than standard.

Has anyone been having issues making Hammer head of any kind? I've tried making bronze hammer heads of different varieties and haven't succeeded, but before when I was level 11, i was able to make them easily.

So is it fixed now? This morning I was about to stop playing altogether with the amount of rage fails I was having with lvl 1 craft fails @ rank 12.

Actually, using your tool that yields higher quantities and going for quality is going to end up getting you more skill if you're using the item you're making for more synths.

e.g. I am making Table Salt on Alchemist... it's more beneficial for me in the long-run to go for HQ with my Mortar as it will yield bonus quantities upon HQ as I'm going to use the salt for making Salted Cod on my Chef.

Does anyone know if Output and Perception have effect on DoH crafting, or is it just for Dol gathering?

Those are only for Discipline of the Lands.

Gathering = probably increases the ease of gathering and reduces the rate of remainder loss
Perception = probably increases the odds of finding rare items
Output = probably increases the odds of higher quantity and qualities of items

Crafting just gets:

Craftsmanship = probably increases the rate of synthesis success
Mag. Craftsmanship = probably increases quality per synthesis
Control = probably reduces the rate of instabilities

I'm starting to think before these recent crafting patches, the game's crafting mechanics were really bugged and allowing people to use rapid synthesis to create items far higher than their current level allowed. The crafting system seems to be taking the reversal attributes between standard/rapid synthesis. ie; intended - standard => average progress, low durability loss. rapid => high progress, high durability loss. But during the starting week, prior to these crafting patches, the Standard synthesis was doing --> average progress, high durability loss. And Rapid synthesis was doing --> high progress, low durability loss, hence the reason why rapid was able to be spammed. Now that the orders are switched, many higher level items are much more difficult to synth, as intended. I have no reason to complain about this, it makes sense and I'm merely offering my opinion on the matter.

Personaly, I really enjoyed the bugged system, it was better XD imo! XD

I picked up a Chocobotail Saw today out of someone's bazaar (100K gone...) and holy shit what a difference.

Still can't find anyone making the leather tools

The bazaar and marketplace system in this game fucking sucks so much, I hope someone gets fired over it.

I've found it much more difficult to synth things above your level, but likewise much easier to synth things below your level. And things around your level? Pretty much the same. Gone are the days- at least for me, at least thus far- of fucking up a simple synth 10 levels lower than you over and over. That, to me, is good.

I think people failing synths probably haven't levelled up other crafts to 10 for their useful abilities. I've turned many a sure fail into a success using things like Epiphany and Tender Touch. Plus a lot of people (me included) are using crap gear. I'm still using weathered tools.
