Trying to unlock 4 cores. Windows 7 won't boot.

I have a Phenom II X2 555 and a GA-MA785GM-US2H motherboard. The board is capable of unlocking the 4 cores on my CPU. Here is what happens:

I go into the bios, set advanced settings as hybrid + auto to enable the 4 cores, go back out and increase the voltage by .25 for the cpu each attempt and the northbridge voltage slightly. Each time I get to the windows 7 loading graphic with the swirling lights, it freezes and I have to hard reboot and up the voltage by another .25. It still isn't working, I also decreased my cpu from 3.2 to 3.0 wondering if that was the issue when unlocking, didn't change anything.

    Any ideas?

You have 1 or more cores that aren't stable. Try just unlocking 1 core at a time. If that doesn't work, then sorry, it's not going to.

Unlocking cores is really hit or miss, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Try what Egon said and you might be able to get tri-core at least. If not, it's not gonna happen on your setup.

How do I go about trying to unlock 3 cores? Just put manual instead of auto and put 1 core to +0% instead of -2% like my bios has them?

Hmm on my BIOS, I can select how many cores I want to use. Unlock it, restart and go into the bios with it unlocked, there should be an option in there somewhere.

Would that be under the Motherboard Intelligent something or other option? M.I.T or something, where I unlock the cores. When I unlock them, it displays cores 0 through 3 at -2%. I can change that number from -12% to +12% with a +0% there too. I dont see an option that just says "Use 3 of the 4 cores"
