Questions/Help for building my first pc

With the release of FFXIV, I have finally decided to build my first computer, and I have a couple of questions regarding what's compatible with what etc.

Here's what I'm thinking about buying:
    PSU: Corsair TX 750w
DVD: some random cheap dvd burner
    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R
    CPU: Intel Core i7-930
    RAM: Corsair Dominator DHX+ DDR3 1600Mhz 6gb
Harddrive: Western Digital Caviar Greenpower 1tb
    GPU: XFX Radeon HD 5870 1gb GDDR5
Cabinet: Cooler Master CM 690 II advanced
    OS: Windows 7

Question 1. Is everything I have selected compatible with the motherboard I have chosen? / Anything I should replace?
Question 2. How well would it run FFXIV?

    Any good answers appreciated =)

get the black version of the WD harddrive for your system drive, the green ones are pretty slow and more for storage.

Final Fantasy XIV should run fairly well on such a build , may want to check out SSD for system/14 drive and use that HDD for the rest.

Solid State Drive are drives made out of flash memory (USB Storage Key, your cellphone etc use flash memory)

Since they do not possess mechanical parts unlike HDD they do have amazing access time (time it takes to retrieve a file on the Disk 50 nanoseconds compared to 10 milliseconds for HDDs) and huge transfer speed (2 to 3x compared to HDDs)

There have other good points such as no fragmentation impact, no noise and lowered current usage but access time/transfer speed are the killer feature

    Cons:
They're extremely expensive when compared to HDDs ($100-150 for a good 40Gb drive), Windows 7 takes like 10 Gb, leaves you with 30 for games, enough for some people.
Theorically die faster than HDDs, Intel says you can use one for 5 years writing 20 gb a day on theirs.

Yeah, there is enough room to have Windows 7 + FF14 and have 20 gb left easily on a 40 gb SSD.

So very wrong. Idk how big 14 is, but you won't have anywhere close to 20GB left, maybe 10GB.

Ok so I found a 120gb corsair SSD that i can afford that should be enough for most stuff right?
On another note, what is the most important thing to focus on for for FFXIV/gaming in general? (GPU? CPU? RAM?)

    Yeah that's more than enough.

GPU > CPU > RAM; they're all important though.

Just received my SSD, installed Win7 and XIV and have 20-21 Gb left out of 37.

Edit: OCZ Vertex 2 40 GB, FFXIV uses 9 GB

Because the 5 day old MMO that really hasn't even launched yet won't ever be taking up more room...
