    update blocked - can't play

At my uni I can't play as the version check fails when I try open up the game. I'm not sure if this would have anything to do with the p2p being blocked but there wern't any version updates when I last checked. Would there be any way around this? Not the end of the world if I can't play there but would be a good way to kill time between classes or destroy my grades.

I can try get the error codes while I'm in tomorrow if that would help at all.

Is your desktop on a campus connection and wired or wireless? Also do you know if torrenting or p2p works on it?

im on a wireless network (home) on both connections. torrenting worked on the only torrent file from the retail (and to my knowledge my laptop was up to date with patches as of my previous post.) the problem still persists though ><

note: my desktop was fixed, and is running the game perfectly fine, specs arent any different between machines and i think that my laptop is somehow blocking the updater from getting past the initializing, but im not sure how to allow it because it doesnt give me an error or ask. The updater still just times out ;/

Ah right, sorry. I thought you were trying to use it on a college connection

Are you running it as an administrator? At least I know on Windows 7 It asks to be installed. Try turning UAC maybe if you havn't already and see if that helps.
