Looks like you have to be so far along with the main story quests first. I was level 21, didn't have miner's quest... did some story, and now it's available.

Have you started/done Fade to White yet?

I'm not sure... all I can say is I'm lvl 21, couldn't get the quest. I did Calamity Cometh and started (almost finished) Fade to White, and I can now get the first miner mission. I did nothing else in between.

Question: So at the end of the Main Storyline quest 15 it told me to go to Uld to talk with someone (Forget the name), is there also a Rank 20 Main Storyline quest?

I did the Fisher class quest "To Fight a Fishback" today, guide below.

You officially join the "Pullers" and get the usual spiel about who they are. They go into detail about Limsa Lominsa's constant battling with the Sahagin and how the Marauder and Musketeer guilds fight them off a majority of the time. It is explained that the Fishers' Guild does their part by supplying them with bait that the Sahagin can't resist, a disgusting-tasting, blind little shit fish called a Pixie Remora.

You are asked to retrieve 5 Pixie Remora from "the cliffs along lowlands La Noscea." This means you can catch them in Grade 1, 2, and 3 schools of fish in the Bearded Rock and Skull Valley vicinity and possibly elsewhere. Pill Bugs and Lugworms will both work and they take two hits to reel in at Rank-20. Only Pixie Remora will bite your line at these fishing points until you've caught one as each location will only yield one, requiring you to travel to 5 different schools of fish (2 Grade-1, 2 Grade-2, and 1 Grade-3).

The schools are at the following locations:

Bearded Rock
Grade-1: 24,32 (through the cave at 25,31)
Grade-1: 22,29 (SE corner)

Skull Valley
Grade-2: 14,24
Grade-2: 13,23 (NE corner)

Bloodshore
Grade-3: 38,23 (through the cave at 37,23)

Return the fish to Maisie to get your 20,000 gil and 2,000 Fishers' Guild Marks while you spot a sketchy Lalafell eavesdropping on your conversation in an ominous fashion.

NOTE: There appear to be no Grade-3 schools of fish in La Noscea (near Bloodshore where they should be) or Gulleye III is bugged in this region. However, I found where a Grade-3 school near Camp Bloodshore should be and caught my last Pixie Remora there.

Also, if you speak to Maisie during the quest, she will tell you how many Pixie Remora you have left to catch to complete the quest although she words it poorly and it sounds like she's telling you the total you need.

I just did the R20 GLD Quest at Rank 20. It requires one synth after you run an errand and then win Parley against 3 NPCs.

One of which, speaks ill of herself. How men cast her aside after they bed her. Good times.

Have you tried out synths with guild training, now that you have enough marks to buy one? How much difference does it make?

i bought chainweaving training, didnt craft enough yet, but it look like (not sure) that i lose less durability, and succeed more often.

Rank 30 Fishing Quest

Best or Worst experience in this game ever?

First, you're directed to go see the NPC normally parked in front of the fishing guild. But you're inside an instance and he's not included. Instead of the normal leaving instance fade, you get warning messages telling you you're leaving the instance. And this is the map they gave you to show you where the guy is. Good thing I'm stubborn and left the instance anyway.

I have to go attempt to feed fish. Then get interrupted by someone telling me I'm doing it wrong and I need to /dance. Then you must guess which emote follows. Geeze. I look like an idiot. But it gets better/worse.

Now the npc tells me I have to go to Uldah to pick up a fish outfit of some sort. I get there and receive <Star-Spangled Subligar>. Again, not sure if best or worst quest ever.

I now have to return to Limsa, and go to the Barrel again. Now I have to dance for the fish. Wearing the subligar.

I finish and return to the fisherman's guild to find out an npc was playing a prank on me. (Oh, good thing it was just an npc playing a prank on me and not the game being stupid.)

Anyway, I think the quest would have been much more entertaining and would have easily fallen on the side of "best quest ever" if I was enjoying the game more. But with the annoyances with the map, the frustrating reminder about anima and travel issues for a stupid subligar, it's pushing me toward the side of "worst experience in game".

Square, these things are *Great* when you have the goodwill of the player. Right now, it's a risky move considering the state of the game. When I picked up the subligar, I laughed, realized I just had to travel to another city to get this and now have to travel back and my smile quickly turned into almost wanting to log off.

Rank 20 CRP quest is fucking stupid as hell. How do people do it? I can't out run the raptors in the narrow ass paths past Silent Arbor...and they always range hit me for 1600 dmg. I'm a LNC with 68 VIT and rank 28..and still I cant do this..wtf.
