You are missing a mining node that pops south of #14, towards the cave, but on the path side of that rock formation.
Same loot list as 14.
Keep an eye out for it.

Looking good now. I'll keep an en eye out for other node locations that might exist now that I'm planning to mine more often. Yeah 22 is where I found it, already been confirmed by Jamison tho.
It would be nice if the maps had the quarry spots on there, or maybe new maps for those. I don't know, you could be working on that already.
I haven't paid any attention to quarry spots because I never quarry, so I have no data to work with. But I might work on that soon since every grade/camp has only 2-3 quarry points (just noticed I spelled quarry wrong in all pics) so it shouldn't be that hard.
I never quarry either but I'm about to start as I want black and white quartz.
Any idea what good gear with perception on would be? I'm going to try aim for HQ items and I've noticed none of my gear has perception.
And I'm annoyed that I still only get 2 hits on gold ore at 39, it's frustrating breaking so many.
For those who dont know how to use the internet in 2011 www.google.com
search FFXIV Perception
click this link http://www.eorzeapedia.com/wiki/en/Perception and look at the gear
Here's a guide I use that shows DoL stats on armor:

Yea sorry lol, I didn't see Seph's post until after I made mine;
Do you think a rank 27 Botanist can have a decent success rate on Grade 4 trees? I know it's the mining thread but pretty much the same rules.
Dude it's a mining question thread. You don't expect shit like what you linked to exist. I thought I'd have to check lots of random pieces on YG, which would be a pain. We should just replace this thread with a link to Eorzeapedia pages as I'm sure everything that could be asked must be on there somewhere.
Anyway thanks for the link. Seems I was wrong earlier when I said none of my gear has perception, I use the velveteen scarf with 12 and the voyager's belt with 9. I was hoping for more, especially a body piece. According to the link there's no leg, body or glove piece with perception that favours MIN and the feet piece doesn't seem appealing. I think I'll just stick with what I have for now.
Zetto, can you send me your blank map for Camp Dragonhead? My handwritten notes aren't readable after scanning.
Sir Wethampster's guide used to have every quarry node well listed, but it looks like some things have changed with where it's hosted and I can't find the maps quickly. I should be be able to link to them from work tomorrow. BTW I've got all quarry points written down if someone needed a specific zone?
Edit: The last two updates each increased gathering animation speed, right? Updating the first post and I can't remember if that was the only change or not.
You are welcome for the link. But you arent the first person to wonder what gear they should use. If you ever need something that isnt a simple google search away... Go to YG, filter armor by piece, job, attribute you want. then purchase the gear closest to your lvl that had the best stats.

You can start the level 30 leves (grade 4) at 25, so yea, should be okay with getting a few swings in. Mahogany's still pissing me off at 31, the logs are always a one hit miss most of the time (as in the bar's mostly depleted before you swing the first time).Do you think a rank 27 Botanist can have a decent success rate on Grade 4 trees? I know it's the mining thread but pretty much the same rules.
I've been hitting the grade 5 stuff since 25 for the velveteen up at Dragon head without too much issue, save that it's just one swing.
Oh do fuck off and get down off that high horse. There is nothing in this thread that can't be found via a Google search, likewise with the main question/answer thread on this forum. You don't need "mining experience" to even answer a mining question if you're just going to Google and copy/paste a link to answer a question.
The point of asking in a forum is for people to comment on what you're asking. Perhaps going all perception gear is a retarded idea (benefit not noticeable on good items maybe?) and someone could come along and suggest something better like stacking output, but you're not going to find that out if all you do is Google pieces of equipment. Perhaps one piece of output or scanning gear is so good that it's not worth adding perception to that slot. So many variables that can be brought to the table.
I use YG every day, yet I was unaware it even had such a feature. You can't expect everyone to know every little feature of certain websites or every guide on Eorzeapea. Just stick to those places if you're just going to bitch at anyone who asks a question here.
And yes you are getting a debate because you're making a big issue out of a simple question. I notice you didn't tell Corrderio to go Google his question, which I'm sure could be answered just as easily via Google than posting here.
Cooleko, Sephiroth... you've each made your point. Can we drop it and please try to keep this thread constructive? Thanks!![]()
Fair enough.
Any botanists know when I can start getting walnut logs at a decent rate? I'm not seeing many in the wards these days.

Here's the nodes I know of that you didn't have at Dragonhead. I mined there exclusivity for several weeks, I'm fairly sure I got 99% of them (I didn't have "7", I remember that node being there before the Nov. update, but not after). Everything else seems to match up.
Fatigue question. If I hit it on mining, does it affect botany? People call it "gathering fatigue" but I don't know if it's still specific to the class you get it on.
no, many gatherers switch off between the two just to never deal with it.
