Faction Leve's

So, me and a friend of mine finally got enough faction points to do a Faction Leve.

I got one of the Azeyma's Shields Leves -- Wanted: Xha Viqqoh the Nibbler. In order to pick this up, I had to redeem (IE: I dont get them back) 100 faction points and one of my 8 leve slots.

Did it with 4 people on 3 star difficulty. Party Makeup: Gladiator, Archer, Conjurer (Heals), Conjurer (DPS).

Objectives: Kill 11 Plague Rats and Xha Viqqoh the Nibbler

The rats, on 3 stars, were basically one shot. They come in as groups of 5. Conjurer AOE was able to handle them all.

The NM, while somewhat easy, did put up a good fight. It was a Mithra that we had to fight (was kinda hoping for a Yagudo with the name) and was srtaight forward till 50%. She then began to spam WS's and Battle Regimen with herself. WS's were hitting the Gladiator for 500-600 health. (Using the TP Inhibiting Regimen on her for 4/5 stars will probably be required). After she dropped, a chest spawned beneath her - Only had 5k gil in it. I assume that on harder difficulty that chest probably can have items.

Anyone else had a chance to test these out and see what else is out there? I think you could relate these Leve's to that of BCNM's from FFXI.

Seems like a lot of work for 5k gil. Surprised that no materials dropped from the chest.

We've seen Onion Doublet and Tarnished Shield from the Rank 20 Azeyma's Shields so far. We did the Sylphs ones on 1 star but they was severely nerfed compared to last time. No linking and no self-curing, they just sleep and AoE air slap. Not as much fun any more.

We did Operation: Reave Quest for Broken Blade in OB and got Tracker's Tunic (Brown) and a Tracker's Hat as the reward. At level 20 Archer I could have solo'd it on 1*. We also tried the Sylphs in OB, put it on 2* cause we had a reasonably large group, and got owned by the cure spam (I was the only one dealing damage basically).

Just a few days ago we did the Sylphs again. Had 2 Archers, about rank 16, 2 Glads rank 13-14, Conj rank 13, Thaum rank 15. I put it on 1* thinking they would spam cure again, but as the above poster said it was nerfed. Really easy besides the tier II elemental spells one-shotting our tanks. Reward was rank 14 shield Tarnished Hoplon (has Unique tag, if anyone knows what this means), ~17k gil, and 2599 gil in the chest.

System seems pretty terrible atm, this was the only leve out of the three I could pick that offered a reward on the leve card, and it was a shield I am never going to use. I also did the Horn and Hand chest leve in OB and got like 2000 guild marks as the reward. Chest at the end should be a guaranteed item drop, or else I'm just going to start saving credits for level 30 faction leves.

Seems the chest have random drops. Could be gil, gear, or NOTHING. Yes, I said nothing. From the same leve I got a new belt from the chest, but when my friend did the same leve, he got nothing from the chest.

Yea they need some 100% drops to go with it. 100 faction credits takes a while to get unless you're just doing leves in every city. I don't like spending the anima though to travel like that, and it takes hella long to run to gri from LL>

So do the Horn and Hand faction leves require any actual combat, or are they basically run here, find items, open reward chest at end, complete? The leve itself doesn't really specify, and I'm 2 faction credits away from one. Just wondering if it's a possible solo around rank 20, or if it's still a group thing.

It took me a week to get 100 on one, and I wasn't even specifically trying. My other two have ~50-60. That's not very long.

Eh, yea it's not that bad, especially at 30 leves, but I'm not one to run around to every city doing leve quests unless there's guild marks involved.

Average is 4 leve resets a week.
20 leves offer 3 leves on average per reset.
Total of 12 leves a week you can do on average.
7 faction credits per leve on average
Total of 84 faction credits per week on average.

Not sure if you can do like you did in OB and keep canceling/opening leves until they give you the credits towards the faction you want, if so it's easy. I guess I just need to keep in mind that it's still way early in the game, and the more fun stuff probably won't come in till much later. As it stands now I HATE doing 20 leves because they're so damn boring. 30's I like because your SP gain is potentially a lot higher but I hear you can't do them until rank 23 now in retail.

has anyone been able to check yet whether or not they offer +200 Credit Lv. 20 Faction leves? Are there different tiers?

We're about to roll out about 10-15 of them today at the +100 Credit ones.

Group was:

Two members had the Rorogun the Tailtamer leve so did that first. Set at 2*, but could have easily done 3*. Have to kill 2 packs of 3 wolves, then a third pack of wolves spawns with the named humanoid mob (Taru archer). Reward was guild marks for the leve holders + 5000 gil chest.

The kobold one was set to 3* and was a little harder. Had to kill 10 kobolds, but they were often close together so they would link. Did some shadow move that was aoe, but didn't seem to hit too hard, especially through SS and Prot + shell. Might have been able to do 4*, but doubt it. Usually 4* stuff tends to one shot people. Reward was guild marks for the holder + chest with gil.

After, we did "To catch a thief" with the same group, at 3*. This normal 20 leve at bloodshore was harder than both of the faction leves we did. Doesn't make sense to me.

iirc, in beta you could get the lv. 30 faction leves at class rank 20, which cost 200 credits. Pretty sure all lv. 20 faction leves are 100 credits.

Confirming this, you are indeed offered Level 30 Faction Leves at a cost of 200 Credits once you hit Classlevel 23.

I checked last night and my options seemed pretty dull. However, one faction offered 1200 MRD points. I think I'ma steer clear of the quick thrill, and hold out until lvl 30.

If you accept a faction leve at 7:59 and then accept some new normal ones at 8:00, it will let you trade the faction leve in without any indication that you're trying to turn in a leve you haven't done yet, and you won't get any of the faction credits back. FYI.

Just checked: I have the option of choosing them at Rank 20.

Also to add to the previous gear I mentioned for the Rank 20 Leves, I got an option for Onion Pattens this time, so I'd assume you could get the full set (minus helm) from the Rank 20 Leves.

You should be able to see the number of stars you cleared the leve at in the right column, if it is 0 the leve has not been completed yet.
