What are the titan mythrilpieces for?
Also this came from a faction leve.

That seems a little bit weak for a Faction Leve... and Unique?! A few days ago I bought the same basic item, just one step up for Rank-14 from a weaver that has pretty much +1 to every stat that has... I guess it's better than other Rank-10 body options for crafting/gathering...
The frayed items are upgraded into the vintage items through crafting. They aren't anything special, but they're cheap, easy to make alternatives to the costs of making their crafted counterparts. There's a frayed cotton doublet, tarnished hoplon, weathered haubergeon, and dented celata, to name a few, that all upgrade through relatively cheap materials and the like into their vintage counterparts.
going to be testing out the Lv.30 Faction Leves (200 credits) this week. We did about 20 runs of Azeyma's Shields Lv.20 ones last week and came up with a mix of gear.
Leather Jackets x3
Onion Doublet x2
Onion Pattens x1
Worm-eatten Square Shield (craft item) x2
Tarnished Hoplon (craft item) x1
all in all not too bad considering all 20 took us about 2 1/2 hours to complete on 4 star. Full party of 15 each time. Will post info on the Lv.30's on Thursday.
Re: Titan Mithrilpieces/other beastcoins - I haven't heard or seen any info about what they're for. Someone pointed out they were for melting down in ffxi (is that right?)

As this is the faction leve thread, anyone work out more details on gaining faction points? I vaguely remember a few bits, but thought it would be good to gather some of it in one place. Here's what I remember:
- Faction points awarded change depending on the faction standings at each camp (1st - 3rd). You find out the standings via an option when you interact with the aethertye (How much is the difference?)
- Faction points awarded also appear to vary based on which rank leve you're working on (rank 1, rank 10, rank 20) (How much is the difference?)
Questions
- Lets collect some data points on the factors we already know of: faction standing (when you start and when you finish the quest), leve rank
- Does your rank relative to leve rank matter?
- Does level of leve difficulty impact pts awarded (1-5 stars)
- When sharing a leve, do you get fewer pts awarded?
- When helping someone else's leve, do you get any points?
The last two may provide significant reason to pair up and share leves so that you have a large selection of high-gil & reward leves to work from frequently.
Factors that affect faction credits for a leve. Here are a couple data points:
- Faction standing 1st, R20 leve, R20 pug, 1 star difficulty: 4 points
- Faction standing 1st, R20 leve, R20 pug, 2 star difficulty: 4 points
- Faction standing 2nd, R20 leve, R20 pug, 2 star difficulty: 6 points
Changing difficulty level did nothing. Changing faction standing went from 4 pts to 6pts.
Helping someone else with a leve gave me no faction credit. Leve-linking (we both accepted the leve independently, but did it together) gave both of us the same faction credit. So grouping gives you extra gil, but no credit.
As a slight aside, chests opened during the leve always gave everyone the same amount and the amounts did not feel like they were split. We had 4k x 3 people once. Most of the time, it was ~2k per person.
Just did "Operation: Sylph Stalkings"
You have to fight 10 Sylphs in there. They will not link and you can fight each of them individually. They will spam AOE sleep "Song" (notes will come out on casting) and a healing song on themself. With 3 people on 2 Stars they were not dangerous but surprisingly resiliant. took us 15 minutes to clear all 8. On the other hand they gave us HUGE amounts of Skill.
^ We did the above on 3 stars and got 500 skill per mob.
I wasnt smart enough to get Guardian Aspect but ya... Killer leve - how many you bring for 3 Star at what level?
Where did you get the recipes to upgrade them? Are they on lodestone? The frayed items are upgraded into the vintage items through crafting. Azeyma Shields 30 faction --
Wanted: Sir Aucheforne of the High Tide
Reward: Notched Buckler
Just soloed Kobold as Ice as R18 GLD. Pretty straightforward way to get 1k+ GLD marks. Gil only from the chest.
1 star only, obviously. GLD is not FFXI RDM, lol.
Edit: Also about ~2000 sword skill total for the leve with aspect which made me pretty happy.
Nice Sath. I am gonna do that one tomorrow solo and was hoping I could clear it since it also offered me marka and I exchanged four leves to bump the marks up to ~1900. Saved up aspect for it too heh.
Keep seeing Blackened Scale Mail as a reward for faction leves, useless to me as a caster. I got to thinking *WTF* so actually looked up the available options for me to see what I could be getting.

Oh. I see.
It's pretty straightforward if you're careful about pulling / avoiding linking them.
This was my first Faction Leve though and I have no idea what any of the others are really like besides a few descriptions here and there and that something about seashells is really easy. Were there any other leves you had in mind to try soloing? Have 100+ credits in the other two areas still so I may as well try something later today.
Horn of Hand rank 20 faction leve is just running around Limsa collecting crates, it is a joke and very easy.
So Far i have only decided to solo X'ha Hu the Nibbler on my Conjurer, it was pretty easy, you have to kill 11 Dire rats, which get one shot with Circle Slash, then kill a humanoid lancer, everytime i have done it i have killed the main npc quest guy before it even gets a Weapon Skill off. Did this as a conjurer but i can't see a gladiator having all that much difficulty.
Beast. Thanks.
All the Horn of Hand leves are focused more for Disciples of the Land/Hand so they apparently contain no fighting.
Wondering if I have some sort of anti-chest issue. I have done the horn and hand leve, and the kobold as ice leve and neither time have I found a chest. In the kobold one my friends opened the chest and after searching for 5 minutes I never did find the reward chest for the horn and hand leve. Are they just supposed to appear where you kill the last group, similar to an aetherial node?
