http://www.famitsu.com/news/201012/11036794.htmlOne of the first event scenes we saw from The 3rd Birthday, way back when it was still a cell phone game, showed main character Aya Brea in a wedding dress. We finally have some context for that scene, courtesy of Famitsu.com.
The wedding scene is a central event in The 3rd Birthday's story, the site reports. Aya, in her wedding dress, is shown with little sister Eve. Aya's groom looks like it might be Kyle, another returning character from past Parasite Eve games.
The wedding scene appears to turn into a gun fight. Screens show heavily armed soldiers and Aya's superior Hyde. Aya is in her wedding dress, but she's covered in blood and pointing a gun. What has happened?
Also at the site, a first look at Aya's revealing Santa Soldier outfit, and the shower scene from another angle. You'll apparently have to fulfill certain conditions in order to unlock the shower scene.
The site also has a look at the latest Twisted, including a creature known as Spawn. Its body looks somewhat like a canon, and it's capable of launching fire balls long distances. Aya will overdive into a tank in order to fight this guy.
There are also some screens of the OE Chip system. As previously detailed, Aya can collect OE Chips on the battle field. By setting these in Aya's 3x3 DNA Board, you'll activate special abilities known as Over Energy.
The OE Chips you earn in battle come in "Normal DNA" form, which are relatively easy to obtain, and "Rare DNA" form, which are harder to obtain and contain more powerful Over Energies.
Over Energies come in a variety of forms as well. There's "Healing," which recovers the HP of soldiers Aya has overdived into. There's also an OE that raises your defense, and an OE that recovers the life of all those who take part in a Cross Fire team up gun attack with Aya.
You can fuse OE Chips by stacking them up on the DNA Board. This can result in the Over Energy rising in level, and possibly changing into a different Over Energy all together. You're free to play around with setting OE Chips until you've finalized the DNA Board, so you can keep on experimenting until you get a result that you like.
Aya can also be customized with new weapons. During your gun fights with the Twisted, you'll be able to switch off between four weapons, some combination of the weapons Aya brings into battle and the weapons used by the current soldier she's overdived into. Once you've encountered a weapon during an overdive, you'll be able to obtain that weapon separately for Aya in your home base's Weapon Bank area. Weapons can be customized with new parts, resulting in higher ranking weapons.

New Wallpaper on Official site, some new screenshots as well, and a few additional screenshots in system section. The latest update at The 3rd Birthday official site gives us a close look at some of the customization systems we've been hearing about for the past few weeks. You can customize main character Aya Brea by accessing PC terminals in between missions at CTI headquarters and during missions at save points.
To purchase new weapons and customize your current weapons, you enter the "Weapon Bank" area of the customization screen. You can also purchase new parts for your weapon here. The parts you have access to depends on Aya's mastery of the weapon, something that rises through use.
Weapons are rated in five areas: W-Pow (Weapon Power), B-Pow (Bullet Power), B-Impact, Handling and Range. When making purchase decisions, you can see what areas of the weapons will improve.
You gain access to new weapons by Overdiving into soldiers on the battle field.
Aya herself can be customized by entering the OE Setup area of the customization menu. This gives you access to Aya's DNA Board, where you can set OE Chips that you've acquired during your mission. Depending on how you place the OE Chips on the board, Aya will gain access to different skills, known as Over Energies. OE Chips can be set in such a way that you end up fusing them together, resulting in Over Energies with higher level or new Over Energies all together.
You gain OE Chips by doing Overdive Kill moves on the enemy and by overdiving into allies.

God damn, I want this game. Why must they tease us so?
Would never do that, I like the free games too much.
Haha can't go wrong with free. I really wanna play this game as well. They releasing the originals soon? Not sure what's the word.
On PSN I think, not sure what region(s), but I'm pretty sure it's happening.
Nomura hints at a possible T3B sequel, and will be on a console if made

Nice, we get to shoot glowing assholes for massive damage.
Small, but looks like 2 different outfits I haven't seen before.

Weird, they give her a dress but not her iconic one from the opera house. Unless I am crazy and that's supposed to be a swimsuit or something... dem PSP graphics.
These pics were just shared from people who got the game early
Two camera angles. The one from afar is referred to as "normal." The closer perspective is referred to as "behind."

T3B Shower Scene: http://www.filefront.com/17680849/Ayashowerscene.avi/
Looking forward to trying out harder difficulty and the codes to make it even harderTimed with today's release of The 3rd Birthday, Famitsu.com has posted an online version of a recent development staff interview that recently appeared in the print Weekly Famitsu. I summarized sections from the print version a while back, but here are a a few additional bits.
First play throughs of The 3rd Birthday will average 12 to 15 hours, said director Hajime Tabata. However, your game data will carry over to subsequent play throughs, allowing you to start with a stronger Aya all beefed out with high level Over Energy. The game's higher difficulties were balanced with the idea that players would carry over their data. (This seems to suggest that if you start on the hard difficulty settings, you're pretty hardcore!).
In addition to having a stronger Aya, subsequent play throughs will allow you to use "Cheat Codes" that you unlock as you play through the game. There are two types: codes that help Aya and codes that make things more difficult. The helpful codes includes things like infinite ammo and speed ups for Aya's auto recovery. Tabata didn't give any examples of the codes that make things difficult, but said that there are far more of these.
The 3rd Birthday has a "Liberation" system, which is basically a burst attack mode that you can unleash once you've built up your "Liberation Gauge" (more details here). Parasite Eve had a special skill called "Liberate." Famitsu asked if these have any relation to one another.
Explained Tabata, the use of the term "Liberation" came about because there was a person on the 3rd Birthday staff who'd made Liberate in the original Parasite Eve. However, because Aya doesn't transform here like she did with Parasite Eve's Liberate, they changed the name a bit and made the system into something that matches The 3rd Birthday. This is similar to "Parasite Energy," whose name carries over partially to The 3rd Birthday as Over Energy.
Regarding the Over Energy system (read details about it here), if it seems like something you're not interested in spending your time on, you won't have to... as long as you play easy mode. For normal and hard, you'll need to strengthen defensive OEs or things will get tough.
Now on to the topic of Aya's costumes and shower scene.
Art Director Isaumu Kamikokuryo says that the game's costumes were designed by someone other than himself. However, he gave precise orders about the quality and color of Aya's base underwear. After trial and error, they determined that black underwear was best.
Scenario head Motomu Toriyama came up with the idea of having Aya's voice change with each costume.
As for the shower scene, for the effect on how the inclusion of this scene affected the game's rating, see this story.
Famitsu will post part two of the interview tomorrow, hopefully with lots of additional trivia bits.
