It seems possible that this is one of those JP/NA+EU desynchronies. They may not see enough of a market in Japan for it to be worthwhile, and they just don't care about the rest of us. I seem to recall that Rockman Dash didn't sell that well over there, and it doesn't have the same status Legends does here.

Honestly.

It's not improbable that somebody in a costume probably did get kicked out and that the whole situation got simply misinterpreted.

Anyway that's why I stated it was a rumor and the little digging I did led to some inconclusive shit so I'm not forming an opinion about it.

Capcom's been doing some crazy shit lately. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it were true. It sounds like real damage control gone out of hand. What AoE said about something being blown up too is also quite probable.
