Grand total: if you have 3 hours/day for playing, half of that time is spent on nothing but running between places. Account the time actually spent on leves and you won't even have any left to search through the wonderful bazaar system to upgrade your gear.

Twenty-four 24 anima (hey you regen 9, it's fine) to access the core content of the game so much vented casual-friendly.

    Seriously, is that fine?
In the end this game is a grouping game, with currently flawed grouping mechanics. The anima regen is fine as long as you party, which anyone with more than 1h of playtime a day should do. Those with just 1h to play should never run out of anima.

You people are, once again, missing the big picture. No aspect of the game is individual, they all affect each other some way or the other.

Yeah, you can take turns in teleporting, however you and the people you do leves with are not together 24/7 in game, you do not log in at the same time, or do the same activities all the time. People will have to waste time running or waste anima to gather in the same city, before and after leves. If you craft or doing local leves you ain't doing them in party.
Anima regen is bullshit so far: might as well completely scratched it and forced us to walk like in FFXI, no point in giving out awesome toys when holding the batteries hidden and rationated. Everyone can only benefit by having more anima, why settle for a shitty standard?

I don't really think they expected or wanted people to travel all over the world every other day like this. Maybe they expected us to just stay in one region, use leves on different classes, and every now and then (but not everyday) when we had surplus anima or felt like walking, to venture out and do more leves outside.

I don't know, we all know SE can be like that.

Either way, Teleport mules should start appearing soon. I don't even know why we'd want chocobos once most servers catch on.

So grouping with random people is not an option? I have the perfect solution:

No open areas at all, only instances where you can always teleport to, and hubs where everything is packed into a small area! Holy shit we can make this into the perfect MMO. Absolutely no time wasted whatsoever!

    Or alternatively, chocobos and airships.

EDIT: Now it is also easy to run from city to camp after you picked up your leves, but what happens when your leve capm is, let's say, in Mor Dohna and your 8 leves are scattered between all the cities (possibly Ishgard included)? Are you going to run your way around?
It is not fine, been doing it for a week now and 90% is travel time... I could have been level 30 now EASY if I stayed in one place and ignored leves. I most likely will since I have 300k gil and nothing to spend it on (can't find shit to buy) However, I want those guildmarks and the idiot leve-giver keeps giving me leves for my level 10 sub jobs....

This game is shit right now. I wanted to give it the benefit of a doubt... "mabye it will get better at release"... but fuck no, those who said we were paying for a beta were right on the money. No Auctions, No chocobos, No party-play, running back and forth for leves, bugged skill-ups both solo and in party, No dungeons or instanced play and gear durability forcing you to level every single craft unless you want to spend thousands on repairs.

This game is a time-sink, nothing more. It has no rewards or redeeming features, just plain frustration.

Will this deter me from playing? Hell no, cause I am an idiot with no real life at all!

I'm not arguing with what was said as a whole because though I do agree with some of it, I do have fun with this game, etc. but...

There are two dungeons for each city's region with more coming (currently blocked-off caves in all regions).

Anima is fine the way it is, if later they add teleport/return spells to the mages that cost MP instead of anima. If anima ends up being the only way to get around, then anima regen should be upped.

Alternatively, gil-costing options like airships or OPs from the main cities and such would be good enough to leave anima like it is.

Right, but since there are NONE of those features in place right now, anima should be increased right now. When airships are buzzing overhead and people have the choice to zoom by with a chocobo or cast a spell, then you can slow the anima regen rate to an even more sluggish crawl, but right now it is the only way - aside from good ol' time-sink foot travel - to get around.

I don't think increasing it now then decreasing it later is a good idea at all. No matter how many options they have, teleporting is always going to be fastest, and those will less time will use the fastest method. Slowing down anima just because there are more options doesn't help those people.

So people would rather take 20 minutes waiting and riding the airship than taking 20 minutes to ride the airship? Or that shaving that Ul'dah run from 30 minutes to 15/20 minutes is going to suddenly make people enjoy doing these treks more? Don't get me wrong, I understand why people are upset about anima regeneration and it's perfectly legitimate, but if people think the alternative means are going to be lightning fast to this they're delusional.

Legitimate question here: when vanilla WoW first came out, did they have their first instances set up? And if so, how many? Just curious to know.

Edit: Yeah, just found that out. 2nd patch had Onyxia too. Hmm. Their whole patch history is up on Neoseeker.

Vanilla WoW had an instance in almost every 10+ zone at retail.

If not, what's most likely going to happen is there is someone is going to eventually set up a popular trade forum and people will just trade through that instead and ignore the market wards altogether. This has how it has worked with all the games I've played without an AH system, because trading through forums is more convenient with PM's than sifting through 250 retainers looking for what you need. I'm not entirely sure if SE accounted for this, since they seem to always overlook what the players are capable of, lol.

tl;dr: SE wants more player interaction so they set up the Market Wards. There will be more player interaction for sure--just not through the Market Wards.

That patch came before the game went retail. The game launched Nov 23, 2004 and that patch is dated Nov 7, 2004.

SE should just make it so that your character has to take at least 10000 steps per day in order to keep his/her current weight. If you take less than that, your character starts gaining weight and lose muscle mass, thus reducing his/her current strength and vitality. This would fix several things, one of which is encouraging people to run more rather than using Anima. I feel this would add more feeling to the game as well. Not only do you have to visit the market and browse stores like you do IRL, you also have to pay attention to your health and weight.

None of them for level 10's or lvl 20's. Also do they have bosses? Gear loot? Chests? Events? Quests? yes? yes?

San Andreas, baby, but there's a flaw in your statement. Most people aren't eating anything in-game - I know I'm not - so instead of gaining weight, people should simply atrophy and weaken if they aren't eating any food, and do it even faster if they aren't eating food AND aren't walking.

There should also be a pacemaker built in-game to monitor your heart.

There should be a pace maker built into BG forums, as some people are getting far to heated about stuff.

I use my anima sparingly now, but I did enjoy the freedom of using it all up in beta, where there was no long-term anima deficit to worry about. One thing I'd like to see if they don't want to increase the rate of anima regen is to have reduced anima costs if you teleport from a node/crystal. They could explain that we're drawing on the power of the aetheryte and needn't deplete our own reserves as much.
