I have heard of the game for a long time. I just watched the gameplay a couple posts up. I don't know what the rest of you are seeing... The animation reminds me a little of tf2 (along with the fact that there are apparently spies). The shooting and xp reminds me of the rest of the fps out there. I don't care if I'm wrong, but at the moment this looks like a very mediocre fps that needed the extra dev time just to meet a release quality standard.

Yeah, definitely getting TF2 vibes from it, although that isn't exactly a bad thing. I got a little worried when I heard this was a Bethesda game, but it seems they are just publishing it and it's from Splash Damage. Still a little worried as I don't think Splash Damage have ever actually released a full game before, just mods for Doom and Quake while working with id.

It's actually 25% off on the pre-order on Direct2Drive right now, so you can grab the PC version for around $37. It's a steamworks title so you'll get a code to redeem on steam.

@dole: Show me where anyone said otherwise, the fact is the game combines elements from many different games into a package that I find appealing (no homo). Kind of like how Darksiders was Zelda of War with a Portal gun. A heavily team/objective based shooter (with fairly customizable characters) is a nice change of pace from the far more common "shoot them more than they shoot you" type of shooters. It's the same reason I loved L4D, because having a good team makes it a lot of fun (to me anyways, obviously I don't speak for everyone). No one is saying it revolutionizes shooters, or that it's the best game ever, and having not played it I can't even say for sure it's a good game, it might come out and not live up to my expectations, but it looks fun.

this is a shooter though. i'm quite sure i'm not the only one that is completely turned off to this tf2 clone with cod mechanics.

if this were a budget title i would buy it. but why would i pay $60 + tax for a game i paid roughly $20 for over 3 years ago?

aren't you a little concerned that the game come out in 36 hours and 0 reviews have emerged? if this game was worth purchasing i'd sure advertise that fact.

I really like how the game play on this game looks, and the classes and character customization (at least the head portion of it) remind me of TF2. That's another plus in my books since my old computer died I haven't been able to play TF2 on steam, so having a FPS that might be a little like it on the XBOX360 would be cool, especially since my only 2 FPS games on the 360 are MW2 and Blops, which both tend to bore me or piss me off.

A buddy of mine is already planning on getting it for the 360, so I'll probably give up the $60 needed for the game with high hopes it doesn't turn out to be a waste of money. If it's half as fun as the videos make it seem, even if I don't like the play-style, it should provide a change of pace as well as some entertainment.

I've been playing it on 360 for the past few days and it plays nothing at all like TF2.

Every class has a pretty big objective to work for.

Soldier will be blowing up key points of the map, engineer will be making MG nests/repairing things, medic is escorting people to their objectives and tossing out revive packs and operative is hacking enemy computers.

To wear a disguise as an operative, you have to find a dead body first.

You start out with the medium body-type but you can get the heavy-type eventually, which moves slowest but can use all weapon-types and has the most health. You can also get the light body-type which can only use light weaponry but is fast as shit and can climb up into weird places.

But yeah, the game plays absolutely nothing like TF2 simply because there is almost no objective that is just, "Kill the fuckers." Even when on defense you have to disarm explosives/capture enemy spawn points by actually interacting with them.

Im not sure why you had that part spoilered but the game could still be under embargo, I know all of our titles are embargoed till the day of the release for reviews. Also, with as many retailers that have competitive sales and pricing for new game releases why are people still paying MSRP for games, especially at places like gamestop for some measly dlc content. Toysrus offering $15 giftcard, Kmart offering $20 coupon and so on. I know amazon and bestbuy has some decent deals as well. Bitching about gaming pricing really shouldnt even take place, considering all of the sales people can take advantage of, I personally havent paid msrp for a game since Gears of War 2.
