Curious to see if Splash Damage is able to salvage this, especially from a PC perspective.

I'm glad I didn't preorder, especially considering the horror show of ATI graphics card issues, netcode problems, etc.

The other bummers like game balance issues, lack of maps (wtf8?), and generic samey weapons can all be remedied easily in patches, assuming Splash Damage has the money to spend continuing development.

I really want to like this game, I like objectives-based shooters, I like customization, and I like unusual game mechanics if they're done right. Maybe after a few patches, I will. We'll see.

@Mjd: I don't really listen to reviews sites most of the time, considering how tame most of the gaming media is. I'm just as curious how so many review sites can rate Brink at an 8+ on a 10 point scale, just going by gameplay videos I've seen. Maybe Joystiq, IGN, 1UP (none of them are sites I care about, tbh) are biased, but many if not most are easily bought. Neither is a good thing.

I'm not gonna lie, the negative reviews of this game are sort of disheartening, but none-the-less, I do believe I will still pick it up for the brobox in hopes that it is able to mix it up from the CoD series for a bit, even if it does have some flaws in development as is. Since CoD games are my only FPS on my box atm, I'm really just looking for a change of pace in my FPS gaming, not the next big bandwagon FPS game, so I hope that later when I return from class with game in hand, I won't be too disappointed.

I'm not into games that are entirely focused on multiplayer. This just feels like a TeamFortress/Quake3 with some terribly Borderlands-esque character/environment design (with a sprinkle of Mirror's Edge first-person parkour). Total pass for me.

Meh, still getting used to the game but I don't think I did too bad. It's not too bad and can be fun if you play it with some friends but don't think this is worth full price. The parkour shit can be good when it works right and you get the hang of it.

I bought the game almost expecting bad things from it considering the reviews it has got today, but instead I found a game I've played for about 6-7 hours since returning home from class with it. Only problems I have with it currently are the fact that the ground/gun/area textures are splotchy at first until they render a bit better, and the problem that the brobox 360 has with lag when in an online match.

If they can make it so that you don't lag in every 4-8 person game you join, and if they improve the graphics a bit, I think this game will be a stellar break from the CoD series for myself.

ive found changing the settings to time made it so the matches weren't as laggy. i'm guessing not as many people are playing that so it's less likely to get shitty hosts.
