Nail Biting halp

Just got an idea for this product to stop you from biting your nails. An odorless substance that tastes really bad @0 calories (for you fat bitches). As soon as you stick your finger in you'll be like wtf ew. I'd ask a 100 bucks for it.

What if you scratch your ass beforehand? Then you'll remember when you're biting your nails and be like 'gdi, I did it again." But proceed to bite them anyways.

I don't bite my nails, I clip them very often (too often probably) and bite the skin off my fingers. Found out recently that there's even a name for it! I don't usually bite till I bleed though, only bled a handful of times in the years I've been doing it. Fingers don't look as bad as the wiki pics, just redder fingertips and they're sensitive (opening a soda can can be annoying). It's really obvious and disgusting when I get them wet like by doing the dishes though.

I've never felt the urge to bite my nails, but I'll subconsciously pick scabs to the point that mosquito bites turn into scars, and I have to wear gloves to sleep with unhealed tattoos. How the hell do you stop doing that?

I'm an avid nail biter but I haven't cared enough to try to stop, it's not all that bad since I don't do it in public. The worst thing about it though is when midterms and finals roll around and my fingers are pretty much raw, hot showers become nearly unbearable.

not sure if this will be helpful, but. So, they put a "bittering" agent in compressed air. Like the kind you get to dust off you keyboard/computer/whatever.

I keep a can of it in my room. You can also turn a can of it upside down to freeze shit for fun, it's fairly amusing. Anyway, there's always at least a can of this in my desk. I have a niece I watch a lot while her parents are out of town. She thinks freezing shit with this upside down compressed air is super fun and tends to "sneak" it while I'm not home.

I also keep a bottle of water in my room. I come home one day, and take a huge swig out of it. I about die. Apparently she thought it would be fun to freeze my bottle of water, and has sprayed the upside down compressed air can all over it (the mouth of the bottle mostly I guess, what the hell). It's THE worst tasting, horrid thing I've ever experienced. I'm pretty sure I'm poisoned/going to die.

They put the bittering agent in there because I guess there's some way to get high off the stuff. I'm pretty positive, if you spray some kind of bittering agent on your nails, you'll NEVER bite them again. EVER. It's that bad.

Sorry for the long story, but that stuff is truly horrid.

Get braces. I haven't bitten my nails in weeks because I can't now with these braces...and I haven't clipped them either. I don't even know where the clippers are because I'm used to not needing them due to biting. My nails are getting kind of long.

Doesn't help when you can't find gum that uses sugar anymore and are allergic to the artificial sweeteners used in sugar-free. Sucralose gives me hives, aspartame can cause seizures.

Sweeeet, I never knew you could freeze stuff with compressed air by turning it upside-down =D

And I am guilty of chewing the skin, though in my case it's not the fingers, but the inside of my cheeks and lips :/

Anyone got good tips on that? I keep chewing the inside of them till they bleed, which pisses me off yet I can't seem to stop it. ><;

Maybe this should become the BG thread of bad habit stopping advice. lol

I got tired of having rough/annoying nails and chewing on my fingers after. Personally I just got a pair of nail clippers and trimmed the 'rough' off, and from there I just stopped doing it. Had to do a bit with not wanting to have unattractive fingertips around girls too. It's probably the easiest habit to kick once you actually try IMO.

edit; Could always dip your fingers in some really bitter shit like they sell for animals not to chew on stuff made of some flowers or bitter fruit or something.
