FFXIV Bug/Game Mechanics Problem Thread

On a death related issue.

Encountered a bug where, if you manage to time a cure spell right, you can apparently revive someone who dies shortly before. It seems the cure needs to land shortly after their HP hits 0 and the death animation starts. Was able to replicate this 3x in a row on friend while trying to do leves harder than we should have.

Will try to get a video of it in action.

Also note, it does give the penalty debuff for death when doing it. Managed to get friends stats pretty low after reviving him those three times.

I've been able to replicate this several times as well was just about to come here to post it. It is rather convenient when you're out in the middle of nowhere and the run is pretty far.

I didn't see this on the main list but this isn't too urgent. The casting bar is very inaccurate, especially with longer casting spells such as stoneskin. Most of the time the bar goes all the way to the end in 1-2s but stoneskin obviously doesn't finish casting that fast. When it does finish casting, the next spell I cast(usually about 2s) has the bar going super slow like it was intended for stoneskin.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or lag. I've had it happen several times where bar fills up and casts normally, the bar stars full and it appears to cast normally, or the bar fills up and then it takes a second or two longer than it usually does to go off. I always chalked it up to lag, but I guess it could be a bug.

This one sounds great:

- A rare issue wherein an item data would get corrupted during a server outage has been addressed.
* We have confirmed that if a player attempts to put this corrupted item into their bazaar, it would cause the server to go down. We are currently in the process of addressing this issue, but until then, we have temporarily restricted the bazaar function for players with these corrupted items. We will be providing an update on this situation once we have a better idea on when the the actual fix will take place. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

I have a bug that I haven't seen posted anywhere else. It's with the installation of the game. Everytime I try to install the game it gives me an Error saying that dx3d9_41.dll is not designed to run on windows or it has an error on it. It then prompts for the directx download that process and updates. But it goes back to the select a language screen and repeats the same error. I've went in on the disc directly and taken of the dx3d9_41.dll file and copied it into the Systen32 folder but still no luck... I've also installed the game on my wife's laptop and copied it across the network onto this computer but it still gives me the same error when I try to run the game. I'm out of ideas. The computer is running windows 7 home premium with a ati radeon hd 5450 1gb graphix card, while my wifes laptop is the same expect its using a ati 512 card. If anyone has an ideas that could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Found an interesting one last night:

Sometimes party members don't show up with names and no HP or MP in the party list. Well if you happen to target them (using up/down on your D-Pad for example) then check them, it causes the game to crash. Did it three times last night to make sure it wasn't just a fluke and happens every time... Yay...

Soooo since this patch my keyboard has had significantly lagged input if the game recognizes the key press at all, makes chatting nearly impossible (when the crafting window doesnt close chat...)

Frequently when checking gear durability, I get ???/96100 instead of the number.

Anyone else seen this?

I forgot about this bug but it's happened to myself and my husband a couple times.

Randomly the enter key will stop working when it comes to chatting. I can hit it to log in and log out but I can not hit to to let texts go through.

I get that bug occasionally too. Usually I just alt-tab out and back and it works again

It splits your gains into Damage and Healing. If you count it separately it'll add up. Both should be added to your TNR.

Instead of showing fixed bugs how you are now, you should just cross out (s tags work?) the bug from the list.

Yeah use the [strike] tag for that.

Under "Fixed" you have "Class skill points (experience gained for your weapon class) are not calculated properly through the course of a battle. [High]"

Is this fixed for next patch? Cause I'm still experiencing the bug on Conj/Thaum. I can replicate it every single time I do a fight. I'll open up menu and see "1275/7300" for Thaum, and after finishing a fight chatlog shows a gain of 26 + 30 + 56 thaum skill points. Open menu again, and now at 1331/7300. Noticed it for the first time last night in a party where the ratio was much worse (said I gained 351 class points, but was only credited for 64 of that).

This does not appear to happen on crafting/gathering.

- When viewing a bazaar
- When setting up a bazaar
- During gathering
- During synthesis

They didn't actually fix this. Pay attention to the chat box.
