That's not an easy start. On the year, they played 6 games against teams with losing records, and six against teams who won their divisions, and two more against wild-card teams. Once teams realized that McDaniels didn't know the run game from a run in his pantyhose, they stopped trying to get into shootouts, and so his coaching was shown over-rated, but Denver's schedule last year was flat-out brutal, including a stretch of three consecutive opponents coming off their bye-week.
