Which do you think is the Better/Safest OC
So after a day or 2 of playing, I've got a few different OC's running pretty stable. One blue screened on Prime95 after a while though, but I think I can change voltages to fix that or something.
I'm using an i7 950, 23 stock multi, with corsair dominator 1600 rated ram.
My first one is with underclocked ram, 175x23 4025ghz with 1403 ram in 8-8-8-24. This is by far the most stable, it run's amazing... the problem is it just doesn't seem right to have my ram at 1403 when it's 1600 rated, and the next jump is 1774 which with current voltages I bsod.
My 2nd one is 177x23 still just over 4ghz with 1774 ram in 9-9-9-27, With speedstep I think this hits 4.2 but I haven't seen how stable this is yet.
My 3rd is the one I'm on now, 200x21 reduced multi giving me an even 4.2ghz with ram at 1603 in 8-8-8-24. I have speedstep on as well but since I defined the multi I don't think it will kick in.
These are all pretty stable, but I'm not sure which is best for 24/7 use. My cpu is on water, running at 40C right now, with 52C being what I hit during games on occasion.
All OC's are running [email protected], qpi/dram 1.300v, and my dram bus @ 1.66
So what do you guys think, which is best for 24/7 usage, and which will provide me the happiest OC. Currently I'm leaning towards the 3rd since it's always at 4.2 without speedstep and runs the ram closest to rated. Although, the 2nd is really appealing. For whatever reason, the first one felt snappiest when I first did it, and it's worked the longest since it's the first one I tried and has been used the most, but the ram at 1400ish is weird.

As RAM overclocks tend to be much less stable than CPU overclocks I generally prefer to buy RAM above the specs that I am hoping for and underclock my RAM rather than overclock it. This generally allows for much more stable overclocks in general in my opinion.

#3 is what I use on my i5 750 21x200Mhz with RAM at 1600 8 8 8 24, I had to raise the CPU voltage to 1.39v but it's incredibly stable and the temperatures are decent (60°C~)

Running some tests option 3 is super stable. If I can get option 2 stable it would be best, since 23multi with speedstep as well as oc'd ram. I should be able to hit 4.4ghz but Haven't dound anything stable with these lower voltages.

Now at 4.4ghz 1682mhz ram 9-9-9-27 I believe, 200bclk 21multi. Had to increase cpu voltage to 1.4 which still seems pretty good.
Getting about 48-52C in wow.
This is doubtful to stay stable and probably not the safest OC but it's fun at least haha. Think I'm gonna stick with 2nd or 3rd, but we'll see.
