Background

Summit is a goal oriented band of players that originated on the Caitsith server in FFXI. It's members, backed by numerous years of experience in other MMOs and empowered by the drive to accomplish everything that XI had to offer, formed on the server in 2003. Since then, Summit and it's later incarnation of Millennium proceeded to tackle and dominate what endgame Caitsith and Final Fantasy XI had to offer, accomplishing numerous firsts for the server, as well as a few amongst the entire endgame community.


Philosophy

Summit believes that the heart of any linkshell rests in it's community. As with all gaming communities expansion is a key aspect to maintaining an environment where members have the time, resources and freedom to accomplish their goals with the time available to them. We welcome players of all skill levels and do not intend to enforce a 'time commitment' membership or play style within our community and do not wish to turn the game into a second job. Currently, there is not any end-game FFXIV content, however we do look forward to engaging this content as it becomes available with our community.



Goals

Our current goals can be defined simply - first and foremost, we aim to position our community to enter into all forms of current and endgame content as it is available. All new members need to be aware that this community will foster progressive game play as we are able to do so. We are not inflexible in our recruitment efforts and aim to provide a social and functional aspect to all types of play. We hope to be able to facilitate all of our community members game play commitments be it social, moderate, or hardcore.


We are currently adding individuals of any jobs to our core roster. Ideal members should embody the following qualities -

• Mature Player - While we do not aim to restrict our recruitment based purely upon age, an applicant should be intelligent, thoughtful, friendly, and be capable of functioning in a group dynamic. A sense of humor is also strongly advised!
  
• Responsible - We also seek players who enjoy actively participating as part of a community environment, assisting others wherever possible. Members should be active participants on our website and in the community to a degree, and communicate with members and leaders. Communication is very, very important within Summit.
  
• Active Player - A potential member should enjoy their time on the game enough to want to log on on a regular basis. If you enjoy socializing, playing, exploring and everything FFXIV has to offer, this may be the shell for you. While there is no specific playtime requirements (especially at this stage of the game) we would like all of our members to participate more than a few times a month, if this seems like a difficult commitment then Summit may not be the linkshell for you.
  
• Commitment - We are seeking players with a great deal of self-motivation and drive. We're seeking players who are driven to better themselves and the linkshell, and chase greater success at every turn. If you are a motivated individual with a personal drive for success, this may be the shell for you.

Summary

We are aware that FFXIV currently has little or no endgame content and is not likely to have any in the immediate future. To that end, we are recruiting on a social and community oriented basis. All applicants are currently being considered, including those who choose purely to craft, harvest, fight or explore within FFXIV. Skill is not a huge direct priority (albeit helpful) as FFXIV is still within it's infancy and much is yet to be discovered. We hope this is the type of environment a potential member is seeking within the Summit community and look forward to hearing from you in game or online!
