6 TO's although it was 7 During the game they must have changed it.

7 is close to double figures?
LBJ is averaging almost a career triple double then.
No doubt. I think this pretty much establishes why Russ=/= Point God.
Russ can have a terrible night and the Thunder can still win because he's just Robin to KD's Batman. A lot harder to say about Point God.
btw Ric Bucher is a voter for the MVP and this is why he's voting for Point God and why the Russell westbrook comparison doesn't hold up for him

Ok, so "statistics don't determine who the better player is." What does, your eyes? I doubt you have seen every minute both Westbrook and Rose have played this year, right? Seems like statistics are a better measure of a players worth to me.

I watch games, both live and on TV. I talk to scouts, players, coaches -- both on those respective players' teams and their opponents'. I study how they're used. I find out what the game plans are and how well particular players execute them. So, do I value all that more than I do a boxscore? Yes, yes, I do.

This is hard to say without coming off as arrogant, but I'm going to try: the access I have, and have had for nearly 20 years, informs my opinion. You don't have that access. I understand that. Some who do, don't know what to do with it or don't utilize it, for whatever reason. More than anything, I remain teachable. When I write or say something, it's almost never without having checked it out with people in the league whose opinions I trust, and who will tell me when I'm off. I don't cite those people because they're usually multiples, but rest assured my understanding of who is good and who is not, who is doing what and who is not, is not based on my thoughts alone.
Yeah. he is
what can I say the guy is amazing.
btw this writeup on Hoopvibe lists exactly why there is all this hate(particularly OKC fans imo)

What’s going on? Derrick Rose is not officially anointed as the 2010-2011 NBA MVP, but people are coming out from the woodwork to get vocal. They banded together to try to prevent him from getting the award. It just seems that way, which is hilarious. I do not know what the huge deal is. What is the problem? A lot of people are up in arms about this. I have to figure this out. Writers and basketball purists are getting emotional over this. I have to explore the reasoning behind the hate.
The media has not voted yet. Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy already called the race claiming that Derrick Rose got it. How does he know? Does he have inside information? Did David Stern explain what was going to happen behind closed doors? Ruh roh! Conspiracy theorists must be at it again, right?
The popular thought of the day is that the media set the tone for Rose winning it. Again I ask, “How?” How is the media making him average nearly 25 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists? Is someone from the media playing NBA 2K11 and then projecting that on television passing that off as a real game? Nope. I don’t think so. Those games are real, people. Think about this – the MVP is voted by the media. Think about that for a second.
Okay, done?
They’re the ones who actually vote for it. They actually watch a lot of the games. That’s why the big sports network outlets tabbed him as the frontrunner consistently over the field all season long. Did you guys even keep up with that? Or did you finally come out recently because of fear? Where were you all-season long? I bet you were just watching your favorite team on NBA League Pass and only catching a select few games from Rose and the Chicago Bulls when they were showcased on national networks.
I do not know why people are surprised. This is not a recent development. He’s been consistently number one all year in polls and rankings from the big daily two. What is the problem exactly? I notice many writers bringing up advanced metrics into the equation to discredit Derrick Rose. That is all fine and dandy, but I already noted that advanced numbers barely cause a dent.
The problems are not the numbers. Rose’s numbers are good according to the NBA League MVP Criteria, which is far superior to any statistic that comes out of your ass. I’ve discussed the numbers enough in past articles without trying to sound like a nerd. We have to go beyond the numbers now.
These are the true problems with people not accepting Derrick Rose as the 2010-2011 NBA MVP (if he is):
22 years old. He is too young. It did not look like he paid his dues and he didn’t have an MVP vote the year before.
He would be the youngest MVP ever in NBA history. Writers (outside Chicago), message board number crunching fanatics, and anyone who doesn’t like the Bulls, will think, “Oh $h*t! Rose is accomplishing something that Jordan, Magic, Bird, Isiah, Kareem, Wilt, West, Kobe, Bill Russell, Shaq, Dwight Howard, LeBron, Wade, Hakeem, Karl Malone, Stockton, and any other Hall of Famer has never done. Something is f*#ked up here.”
He is not an efficient scorer.
He is not your favorite player and doesn’t play for your team.
He rose too fast. Pun intended.
He doesn't dominate on defense - statistically the worst on the team regarding +/-
Regardless of that, Rose is leading the Bulls to the number one spot in the East with the current record of 53-20.
You're still mad? Why? So you guys discredit winning now? Relax, get up, take a deep breath, and go for a walk. You know damn well you wouldn't bash him if he played for your team. Rose as the NBA MVP is a travesty? Wow. How does him winning it change the award or how you live your life? The world doesn't end. You’re welcomed to go on television, or radio, to grab your 10 seconds talking trash. Go for it. You're too cool.
MVP amazing?
I may switch over to James Harden craziness. That brother needs to be a starter.
Lol. Cowturd today was talking about more Rose/Iverson comparisons, and how you'd be 'surprised' with how similar their numbers were. Yeah, of course at that point, I was lol'ing and rolling my eyes. What was funny was then he of course did something he says to never do.. that's 'live in the moment' and he said 'look at Rose's game last night. Was he the MVP then?" all while badmouthing folks who are 'living in the moment' with the Final Four, currently. So that was basically strike two. Then, of course he said the 'Heatles' were going to crush the Cavs and go 1.5 games behind the Bulls. Yeah.. the Heatles lost. To the Cavs. By double digits. gg Colin Cowturd.
Wonder what he'll say tomorrow? "Oh don't live in the moment. That was just a blip. LeBron still played well and deserves the MVP!" -.- He's not even the best player on his TEAM.
lol, i just noticed tonight was Cavs' first double digit win all season
The guy is averaging almost a triple double though!!
Yeah but can he do this?
Wow!
He said it was because he was in the restroom. What a scared coward!
He's taking his talents to the toilet
Point God
I thought that's already what "taking my talents to South Beach" meant?
What a shining role model for good sportsmanship. Gutless wonder.
i, for one, am pleased with how much better lebron is doing in miami than he was in cleveland. who wants to be a one seed anyway, right?
He just want's to have some comparable talent level team mates to blame when they fail.
Speaking of Lebron.

LeBron called Derrick Rose his MVP today.
Feels good man.
btw Thunder's defense with Perk in the lineup has been better than the Point Godses, just saying.
