Not trolling, leading a team to 11-38 shouldn't be rewarded. If it is, then players like Monta Ellis should get the nod, but they don't. If winning counts to get in like Duncan, then it should be that way for everyone, but they just pick and choose who to put in based on the NBAs agenda. If portland was a big market, Aldridge gets in guaranteed.

Aldridge should be in there, but Love gets in over him imo over more consistent play throughout the season. Duncan is in based on reputation.

look, as long as the NBA continues to allow jackassery like voting in players who've never played one minute in the season, being an nba all-star is really just an empty title. on the surface people take it kinda seriously but if you look at the arbitrary criteria, then being an all-star is really not a big deal. if the player is legit, the rest of the L knows it and it won't make his contributions any less recognized where it really counts.

yes, aldridge being snubbed kinda sucks given how he's carrying portland night in and night out. but the teams he'll face after the all-star break aren't gonna say "oh, herp derp, LA wasn't an all-star so i'm gonna take it easy." they're gonna recognize his MVP-like contributions regardless of title and give respect where it's due.

Monta Ellis shouldn't be an All-Star. Scoring a bunch of points on a bad team is easy, getting 15-20 rebounds a night for a bad team means you are working hard. I mean Monta Ellis was taking like 30 shots a night last year.

How many ASG have Yao been voted to? Lol. That fact alone should prove what a joke it is to be an all star. Still, a guy like Love who averages 21-15.5 (had 20 and 15 tonight again) deserves the nod. Yeah, he kinda can't help the team around him is complete garbage. Look at what they did when Al Jefferson was there.. dude was a stud, but couldn't help the fact that the T-Wolves were terrible.

Since when is working hard something that got you into an all-star game? quite frankly the majority of the people voted on were voted on by reputation alone. You telling me that LBJ and Dwade don't get voted starters if they averaged 2.6 ppg? or if they missed the entire season but comeback a week prior to the ASG?

Kenny smith summed it up for me.

I agree with Kenny. A good jump shot is like a good woman, she never leaves you, and your jumping ability is like those skanks in the clubs, they leave when you get old LOL

He's at 25ppg, 3 rbg, and 5 apg. He'd be a reserve for sure in the East but all he does is score, the West is too stacked with talent. Love, Nash, Aldridge would all go in before him of the people that got snubbed.

Mavs are back to their pre Dirk injury roll. Staying even with good teams until 4th Quarter and holding them to low points with their shutdown zone defense while hitting big shots, and blowing out bad teams. Still need someone to replace Butler's production, hopefully Peja or Roddy can do that. Right now Tyson Chandler has stepped up and is averaging 18 points/15 boards the last 7 games.

I don't think anyone can take it from LeBron. Just because Cleveland is SO bad without him it just shows how valuable he was. Of course Dirk is shooting like 53% right now and it's inching higher every game he gets healthier.

i think lebron might be something like a reverse MVP: someone whose absence set a franchise back by years without him and outed them as historically bad. most MVP's are recognized by how good a team is when that player is their best guy within that particular season. but not too often do you get to see the effects of those teams without their best players for an extended period of time and very rarely to this magnitude. lebron fits the bill and we'll be seeing the after-effects for a long time.

that said, i think rose is MVP right now, but lebron will definitely get some votes for that. and the more cleveland snowballs into oblivion the more voices we'll hear about lebron deserving the mvp.

Lebron's stats are pretty fucking good, too. 26/7/7 isn't the triple double people were calling for but its not as if his numbers are as far down as people seem to think they are, and they obviously stand up to or above anyone else in the league atm. You don't even really need to look at Cleveland's losses to make his case...but it obviously is striking. They lost more than just LBJ, but ppl will still throw most of the credit to him being gone.

yeah i agree with you. his numbers are definitely nothing to sneeze at.

you can even make the argument that numbers being equal or better than rose's (though in this case they're better), the circumstance of cleveland's suckiness only helps lebron's case. however, with the bulls, having a really good new coach who will get some COY votes might damage rose's case.

If melo goes to LA, who do the Lakers give up? Melo for Walton straight up? LOL. When does the MVP go by stats only? If so who has had the best stat year? CP3? Also, why is everyone mad about Duncan getting All star nods, but nobody says shit about KG? Duncan has better stats this year.
