OMFG, I just watched the game. Did not know I had such pure orgasmic bliss waiting for me on the DVR. Through the first half of the 4th I was yelling at the TV cuz the Mavs were doing some really dumb unforced turnovers. It was more stupid plays rather than good defense. If it wasn't for the previous series, I would have probably just fast forwarded to the end to find out the final score. And then the incredible happened.
Marion did a great job of making the Heat pay for gambling on rotations. They always leave the person with the ball to cheat on the passing lanes. Marion just kept going to the hole and his defender, usually James, would give him wide open layups. He should just keep going strong to the basket until they finally respect him.
If the Mavs win the next game then expect the Heat to play really tight for the rest of the series as doubt starts to settle in. I really hope this game eats away at them a little bit.
What a fucking game. I ALMOST turned the TV off when they were down by 15 with 6mins to go... fuckin glad I didn't. My throat hurts from screaming though...
Just heard on Sportscenter that, since the 2-3-2 format, series finals have been tied 1-1 a total of 11 times and the winner of Game 3 went on to win the series all 11 times. Needless to say, Sunday is important, yo.
Mavs had 20 turnovers for 31 points, no way that is happening again. Jason Kidd had 5 of them and his assist:turnover ratio in the playoffs is insane.
Mavs have played some bad offensive ball for the most part these 2 games. Missing wide open shots game 1 and dumb unforced turnovers game 2, when both teams have been playing well at the same time the game has been pretty even.
Here's hoping I get my courtside seats for games 3/4/5. Can't wait to watch Miami get shit on.
The heat gave the game away by jacking 3s when they were up by double digits
I think they shot four 3s in a row, looking for the dagger LOL

After the Thunder’s 15-point meltdown in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals, LeBron James said this:
“I don’t want to sit here and be the coach of OKC but I seen a lot of things that could have been done better.”
Do you prefer college rule, cardstock or construction?
(Now, I suppose you might be saying, “But Royce, shouldn’t you eat yours? You just wrote about how the Thunder should learn from the Heat.” And you’d be right. But I also said this in that piece:
“They’re closing games with impressive style. Now, it’s about closing a series. They’ve got a leg up on the Mavericks 1-0. As goes anything with the Heat, one time of failure and all this goodwill flies out the door. One time of not closing and finishing poorly and everyone is ready to write and talk about their problems.”
Maybe I just got it backwards. Maybe the Heat were the ones learning from the Thunder.
The Heat totally blew this one, no doubt. Their possessions were poor, they didn’t play defensive and Dirk totally Dirk’d them. At the same time though, they kind of did their thing. They just missed some shots. The trust was there. All those quotes from Wade and LeBron are still applicable anyway.
And really, there’s something for the Thunder to learn here again: It happens to everyone. Even the really good, experienced guys. Winning is hard. Especially when you’re playing Dirk.
keep telling yourselves the biggest playoff collapse in history at home was just a little bump in the road, Heat fans
Yes, I'm sure they are just going to be heartbroken, cry, and forget how to play basketball. It's not even a bump in the road. Heat will win back home court, dallas isn't about to rip off three strait against a team as good as the heat. If Dallas wins the series, they'll have to win in Miami, and they'll have to play a hell of a lot better than they did last night, because Miami won't allow another 20-2 run to close a game, and Bosh sure as hell won't be on Dirk in the last seconds.
And Dallas won't turn over the ball a million times, LeBron and Wade won't be raining 3s, etc, etc, we can do this shit all day.
1-1 is what matters. Even if Dallas doesn't win all three at home, it is easy to take the Heat crowd out of the game and make it a neutral site.
And if it's so easy to stop Dirk, why hasn't LeBron been guarding him full-time both games?
The same reason he didn't play Rose full time in the last series. Lebron's responsibility is to prevent what happened last night. having the best player on the other team rip off 10 strait points in the closing minutes. Miami isn't going to lose the series because they are heartbroken or mentally crushed because Dallas tore off an absurd run. Implying that is retarded.
I didn't say or imply they would be mentally crushed. I said 1-1 is what matters.
Seems a pretty clear implication. I don't think it matters if it was a 20 point Dallas win, 2 point dallas win, or epic collapse as you said. Heat will come into game 3 as focused and ready to play as they have all season. Epic collapse is irrelevant. They lost, it's one game. Outside of a nice 7 minute stretch, Miami has killed Dallas on defense. I don't expect that to change. I doubt Miami takes their foot off the pedal again.
Well you seem to have a pretty clear view of the outcome of the series in your crystal ball, so I will leave you to it.
They just did
