We all know Kobe is the better penetrator, even if the other person says no.

    Mmmm quotes

The NBA is not a fantasy league. This will be a lasting message of the Heat’s 2010-11 season. You can’t just assemble a talented trio, add up all the individual stats, and start collecting the rings. Basketball is more complicated and more nuanced than that.

People saying shit about the heat trying to be a fantasy team, when Cuban had been playing that game for years. I also LOLd at Gilbert 's tweet, he still mad.

It's just highlighting that you can't put together 3 top20 players when 2 of their game's don't even compliment each other - just because Wade and LeBron were great before the trade doesn't mean you can just toss them together and add up their stats and that's what you'll get every night. Both Wade and LeBron need to start at the perimeter and then try to beat players off the dribble, they are too similar. LeBron was at his best this series when Wade was in the locker room or on the bench. Now if LeBron was better without the ball and had a post game the way the Mavs defended him wouldn't have worked...

Basically they should trade LeBron or Wade for an actual PG and center.

So, you're saying they aren't going to get a ring. It was their first year together, they got better as the year went on and they just happened to have one bad series. This shit is stupid as hell.

It's pretty rare for the NBA finals runner up to make it back to the finals the next year much less win it. Chicago, Lakers, OKC are all going to be better, and the Mavs aren't going away. The East was pretty weak overall this year, Celtics got hit with injuries and Chicago only had 1 offensive threat.

I'm not saying the Heat can't win as currently constructed (they were 2 wins away) but shit happens and it's tough to win with a team with so little depth. What if one of the Big 3 gets injured? Their season is basically over because they don't have anyone else on the bench.

LeBron has to change if he wants to win a ring on the Heat. He and Wade both need to dominate the ball to be most effective, and at the end of games it was obvious they had no idea what the pecking order was. If LeBron was as good without the ball as he was with it and had a post game they would be unstoppable.

Congratulations, Mavs. Nice game last night, and nice series. Considering half (more?) of the experts had them losing in the first round, I think we can drop the choke artists label.

I have a hard time thinking that Miami won't win a title or three with this group. Their first year together, they made it to game 6 of the NBA finals. I think we'll likely see the team get better, not worse, as they learn to play together more.

On a more somber note, considering the labor agreement, Dallas may have the longest reign of any defending NBA champion. What's the over/under on the next time we see a regulation NBA game? 6 months? 8 months? 16 months? I have some hope that the NFL resolves its dispute and gets the season going on time, but everything I read says the NBA lockout is going to be long and ugly.

Yeah it's gonna suck. The NBA right now is fatally flawed, the owners actually did open their books and they are losing 300 million a year right now. Which is amazing because the NBA is at a all time high right now with talent and viewership.

There's players out there making $10-12 million/year who just suck. There needs to be a salary cap just to save owners from themselves. If they don't fix it now it will be unfix-able eventually. The fix is to give less money to the majority of the players going forward though, and I don't see how that's going to work out.

Edit: 6k people at Love Field, the plane just landed!

All the ridiculous turnovers and free throw shooting didn't help either. I don't really think that Lebron and Wade being on the same team with the same style is necessarily bad, considering everytime in the earlier games that James got doubled, that generally left Wade open to do this thing, which is why he was such a good scorer this series. But yea, James being nonexistant in the 4th Quarter can't happen if they want to win in the future. Seriously doubt this is the first time Lebron's ever dealt with being constantly double teamed in his NBA career, he needs to be more aggressive. They had fucking JJ Barea guarding him at one point and he got an Offensive foul trying to move in. Shoot over the fucking guy, you prolly don't even need to jump to get it over him. You put someone like that on Kobe he will punish you for it.

The Mavs pretty much showed why you need a good bench this entire playoffs; you got 1 star player having a bad day, other people can step up. Dirk was useless p. much until the 4th but Jason Terry came off the bench and just rained down shots all game. Same with Barea, etc. Heat don't have that kind of depth. Great win for the Mavs though, always nice to see really talented players finally get a ring they deserve like KG did years back, and like Dirk/Kidd did yesterday. Series was fun to watch at least lol.

The new CBA could kill the Mavs chances of repeating, and prevent the Heat from getting to the Finals again.

Chandler, JJ, Stevenson, Butler are all going to be Free Agents, and there might be more Free Agents on the Mavs. Depending on how this CBA goes, they might not be able to keep everyone.

If the Mavs lost, you wouldn't be saying "runner up never makes the finals". You'd be giving us a thousand reasons (excuses) as to why they lost and why they'll be even better for it next season and should be favorites. Am I supposed to believe that Miami isn't going to be better next year with another year of experience and, likely, better play from the point? Am I to believe that the Lakers are going to get better after losing the best coach in NBA history and picking up...Mike Brown. The Celtics, are they getting younger? Heat are fine, the two series in which everyone said depth would kill them, they won. They had a couple bad games and dallas had a couple of games where they couldn't miss a shot. That's all it was.

Also, regarding your last sentence...are you saying Lebron needs to improve defensively? Really, are you saying that?
