I don't mind Mavs fans going nuts since they've never won anything. When the Lakers do it, it's a different story considering how much they've won. That and I hate the Lakers.

As someone that remembers well when the Mavs were competing for worst record of all time, the Mavs knocking off this year's Heat is pretty much the best poetic justice evar.

Considering how terrible the Mavs used to be, the fact that they won a title at all is pretty awesome. I think it's the fact that they beat the Heat that makes it better. If this had been up against the Bulls or someshit, and Cuban had been a total douchebag the entire time, then people would have had a problem with.

As it were, the Mavs, with old players, somehow knocked off the big bad Heat, and won the title.

A shame the Spurs got beat by the Grizzlies...

for some reason i really dont consider it buying a title. they arent as bad as dallas, redskins, bosox, yankees when it comes to picking up players. i feel like mavs mainly just pick up old guys no one really wants anymore that used to be 2 legit 2 quit.

Mavs slowly acquired players, they didn't ship off the entire roster to make room to sign the 3 big free agents of the offseason and then surround them with whatever other scraps they could find.

I suppose that depends on if you count Dirk or not. If so, that's 3 of the starting 5 in game 6.

How many teams really just win through the draft though? I can't see how Dallas 'bought a championship' any more than any other team that's signed a free agent.

Regardless, I wish Chandler had played like this when the Bulls drafted him. :/
