Its enraging because none of these owners built the sports, they are simply rich enough to have the honor & privilege to be intimately associated with whatever sport they're an owner in. They act like they actually matter as individuals & are somehow important to the game beyond the guy that signs the checks and gets even more money in return, when the reality is none of them are really unique or special.

It's not the Blazers fault either. It's the owners as a whole overpaying for shit. My team is fucked financially because we're stuck with a guy whose gonna make 16,17,18, and 19 mill over the next 4 years and he can't even play. SMH

I'm not saying it's not the owners fault. They all want to win and they all overpaid for complimentary guys. It's mostly the mid level type players that are making way too much money - only Superstars should be making 10+mil a year. Good centers are also so rare that owners roll the dice on them.

Blame Stern for implementing the Soft Cap when he became the commish in the 80s, salaries have slowly gotten higher and higher and they never fixed it in the other 3 lockouts (seriously Stern has been part of 4 lockouts) because they came at times when the league had MJ or high ratings.

Problem is now the economy is shit and some teams have 60-80 million salaries but aren't making even half of that back. Really only the Lakers and Knicks are making a ton of money.
