Great movie, likely a must see for everyone.

Not that it's important to the movie, but anyone insisting that Facebook is unimportant and has held little impact on the web/communication is only kidding themselves - whether or not you hate it.

The fact that there is a Share marker for Facebook on this very page should be a sign lol...

Facebook changed the internet for the public, maybe not the internet as a whole, and certainly not the dark corners of the internet, kind of like this site.

People who are savvy with the culture will of course know of its predecessors but to the people who bought computers, phones, and internet plans just to use facebook, it IS the internet, it invented the internet, and without it, the internet is at large a waste of time.

That said, I'll probably watch it since it's getting such rave. I don't hate FB, but I do absolutely loathe Zuckerberg. The guy is a horrible douchebag and there's a lot of cringe worthy stuff he did back stage with the early administrative decisions with facebook that they don't touch on.. can't stand to see the guy getting a penny of extra money to be honest.

You didn't interpret that paragraph correctly. The impact doesn't matter, what does is how the creator is portrayed. Facebook was not a work of a genius.

This little factoid is bullshit mind you. If people like this exist, they are very small in population and they could have very well existed during the times of myspace and etc. For one Facebook's connecting to other sites works both ways. People get linked off the site to stuff on Youtube, news sites, etc etc. People even similar to what you said only use Facebook center to their experience, the same way people have used and continue use email and instant messager.

It's an addiction! At first when I saw the adds for the movie I was thinking it looked good, and then thought about it for a while.. isn't a story about facebook sorta dumb? But from all the positive praise it's sparked my interest to go and see it.

I don't hate facebook simply because its convenient. As to how anyone can really hate on it is beyond me; it makes it easier to communicate with people you don't see very often.

The only thing that bugs me is that some people have over 1000 friends, and they add people they glanced at at a party and immediately think they're friends. I sit at about 200 people on facebook, and talk to almost all of them either in real life or through FB. Its a convenience.

As for the movie, how long ago did it come out? Generally a week+ before a decent downloadable copy hits.

That's what I was getting at with my hatred of facebook comment, seemed like it was praising it as some sort of revolutionary thing that just changed everything about the internet, where as I think it is one of the worst things ever.

So I downloaded "The_Social_Network_2010_DVDRip.avi" and ended up watching some movie called Suspension >.> Didn't think anything of it till the end lol, since everyone says facebook isn't mentioned until the last 5 mins and the movie I ended up watching was some stalker that could freeze time w/ his camera. Movie was fucking retarded.
